Val was anxiously pacing outside of his house. He came out just to get some air, but he ended up calling Zendaya instead. He doesn’t know why exactly, the only thing on his mind was escaping. He knew that if he went back in, a much bigger argument would erupt and he was trying to prevent that from happening. Could he have easily taken the car and drove somewhere himself? Sure he could have, but he didn’t and now he was apprehensively anticipating her arrival.

Just a little something because I felt like writing today.

Here is the prompt which I found from this list: One having a mild injury and the other overreacting.

“Well, it’s not under here,” Zendaya exhales as her eyes squint slightly in search of the lost remote, which she had hoped was somewhere underneath Val’s couch. He’s busy lifting the cushions and checking if it’s somewhere hidden underneath there. The dust sitting underneath the couch is too much for her nose, so she slowly begins to pull her face away from the area.

“What is going on?” Claire walked into the hall.

She saw her daughter in in her husband’s arms crying.

“What happened?” She whispered as she stood next to Kazembe.

The man just shook his head. He didn’t know what was going on with his little girl but he was sure it was nothing good.

“Shhh whatever is going on we will deal with it, together.” He stroke her hair.

After a minute Zendaya calmed down and pulled away from her father.

“I am sorry I just didn’t know where to go.” She wiped her eyes as she looked at her mother. “Hey mom.” She smiled weakly at her.
