life update. doctors HATE her: local author in complete remission for severe crohn’s disease after just one week of treatment.

jk but also not really?? i had my first infusion a couple weeks back and not only did i see improvement literally the next day, but by the end of the first week all my symptoms had disappeared entirely. not just the GI stuff, but my mouth ulcers, joint pain, and episcleritis too. it cleared up so quickly and so completely that it honestly didn’t even feel like i had crohn’s anymore.

… right in time for finals week LMAO but the good news is that i got thru it, school is finally over and done with (third year in the bag) and other than studying for my navle in the fall, i’m off the hook til end of summer.

WHICH MEANS... writing time. oh boy am i excited. i don’t wanna promise a specific date but i had already been chipping away at the next htp chapter and now there’s nothing to stop me from giving it my full attention. so uh, keep an eye out for that 💃

OHH GOOD CATCH. i figured dreamworks left her’s out just to avoid confusion but that’s a neat little nod to it. i wonder if we’ll see any aspect of these ‘interviews’ turn up in the show, or if it was purely for advertising.

ooooh yeah i think ur talking about “first day of my life” by bright eyes? it’s the only one i think i’ve actually removed from the playlist, the others were just re-ordered. i still like that song btw it’s very sweet, i just decided it didn’t quite fit tango in HTP. it placed a little too much significance on his relationship w jimmy as being the start of his new life when in the story he’s had nearly ten years w the hermits beforehand, learning about love and kindness. so that’s the only reason i took it off.

but anyway, i hope that’s the song u meant, if not lmk and i’ll have another look!

#hermitcraft #in my interpretation the cubitos record build/redstone tutorials and upload them to a digital platform not unlike youtube #i call it the multi-net cuz im ~so creative~#it’d be less like the real videos the yters put out documenting everything abt their lives #maybe the occasional vlog but overall they’re much more private abt their personal lives #but this still allows them to build reputations throughout the universe #and become renowned builders or redstoners that’s be recognized on public servers

Researching the HECK out of visual stuff to inspire me is my first go!! (Besides also asking aqua Lore questions HAHA)

I like to search up outfits, costuming, characters that have the energy I want to infuse, and sometimes even bugs or rocks or anything else that scratches my brain!

I often also search “sexy ___ costume” to see how ppl are slutifying certain things HEHE

Annnd of course, I take screenshots of the character’s skin(s)! Then I compile all this into a digital cork board app I have called “VizRef”, resize it to only take a little bit up of my screen, and get drawing!! I find having the visuals nearby but not ON my canvas makes me feel way less cluttered!

Here’s the chunk of refs I had up when making Cub!

And here’s me drawing him! I try not to get TOO bogged down in details bc I can always redraw them later, but it’s good to have a visual starting point! And he came about easily enough, but sometimes I gotta scrap a lot of attempts bc it doesn’t have the energy I want it to!

yknow, i have considered the non-zero chance of a hermit/life series member stumbling across my work, especially as more and more of them seem to be dipping their toes here on tumblr. this is the only fandom i’ve written for where the creators interact so closely with their fans (and fan content) on a regular basis, so it’s def a strange prospect. i guess that’d apply to tik tok as well.

lemme be clear: i would never want someone to purposefully send my work to the cc’s or ask them about it, but if they come across it on their own, i trust them to moderate their own engagement as an adult on a public platform (ie. if they don’t wanna see shipping nonsense, i trust they are capable of just… scrolling past it LOL) and i believe jimmy has already been informed that the fic community would prefer if he didn’t engage like he does w fanart/animatics so i’m prob safe from him ever like, actually acknowledging it HA

but anyway, the proximity of the cc’s to the fandom is def interesting. from a creator standpoint, i can absolutely understand their curiosity. but it seems to make some ppl think the fandom needs to be ‘sanitized’ for them, which i disagree with. fandom is and has always been a place for the fans. the cc’s are all adults, they can decide what content they wanna see. not that this is directed at u anon LMAO i just always see those ‘scatter!’ posts in the main tag anytime a cc mentions tumblr and i’m like uh… sir i live here. u literally picked up my rock. i’m just chillin.

so yeah, i’ve made my peace w the chance of a cc coming across the HTP au (i guess i OUGHTA be ok w it cuz i’ve written a piece for the next trafficzine, but no shipping for that ofc HAHA)
