I think my time at Tumblr has come to an end. I’ve had a great time here and there are some great guys here who have been an amazing source of encouragement. When I first started posting here I had never shared my work online before. It was a great source of learning and a push to continue creating. However over time I have come to see this probably isn’t the platform for me. I don’t know what platform is, but I know this isn’t it. I am unsure how I will leave this as deleting my account will leave the many thousands of reblogs with no way to find the originator. So I am likely to leave what is up up and leave everything where it is. I can still be contacted by email and perhaps if I find the right platform for my work I will link to it. It’s been great guys. Cheers.

Surely this will be known as the age of the screen. Television screens, cinema screens, computer and phone screens. And what do they have in common? The visual straightjacket of the frame. The rectangle in which all content must reside. But perhaps that is a good thing? Restrictions and limits are of great value to the artist. Can art be created if there is no limit, no clear space to place it in? The rectangle of the frame certainly feels very manmade, you'd be hard pressed to find one in nature. But perhaps that is an essential part as art is made by us and not nature. #photography #creativity #ideas #frame #screen #greenaway #sea #seascape #beach #framing #cornwall #swisbest #newquay #canon #instaphoto #rectangle #england

The Tides of March. It's not March but I thought of this as a project title/idea. Ides from the famous saying were originally the first full moon of a month. I like the link between the moon and the tides. I've been messing around with panorama type ideas as Adobe Lightroom CC does a great job of stitching together photos without too much effort. I like the idea of having lots of people in a photo all doing different things, almost like Wheres Wally/Waldo. It's hard to show that kind of thing on sites like Tumblr due to the dimensions but I think it could work in print. Maybe I have to wait til next March to do this project properly though... #swisbest #stives #cornwall #panorama #tide #sea #canon #lightroom #landscape
