Steven was surprised by the sudden hug; standing awkwardly before wrapping his arms around the thin gem, gently setting a hand just below her gem;

Amias shifted their position behind the rock, leaning against it gingerly. They didn’t know if they could exactly be seen in the dark, but their light green sweatshirt could most certainly be seen.
The shadow-thing could hear the other’s sandals flop against his feet as he approached. Oh no, please don’t. They pressed their back against it, staring ahead of them at the sea water.
“ Yeah. Sorry if I scared you at all– I haven’t been here in a.. few millenia. ”
Wait -- did they say Millenia..? only gems lived that long on earth - at least he thought that was how it worked... Wait !! Maybe this person was really a gem and was worried that he was some hostel local !? “ Are you a Gem ? ”
