a confession she never thought she'd admit | regina & killian

Regina leaned into the pirate’s touch instantly. She lifted her hands and laid them onto his chest, exhaling shakily as she did. “Killian, t-there’s something I need to talk to you about, something I need to say, something I’ve been trying to say for god knows how many years.” She said quickly, her nerves beginning to get the best of her; her body and mind going into panic mode.

"Killian …" The evil queen bit her lip softly. "Killian, I love you." She finally choked out, her eyes filling with tears upon uttering the three words she had never been able to bring herself to say — for more than one reason.

Killian allowed himself to cup Regina's face with his good hand as she struggled for words, her eyes bright with tears. It broke his heart to see her like this and he wondered what could possibly be plaguing her so. He watched her intensely, trying to encourage her with his eyes and soft strokes of his thumb over her cheekbone.

When she finally said the words, that she loved him, it took Killian a moment to register. They'd said the phrase before, of course. They'd been friends for years; of course they loved each other. But this, the way she'd rushed to him with tears in her eyes. It had to mean that she loved him. The way he'd loved her secretly for so long. Killian drew in a sharp breath, his eyes searching hers.

"Oh, Regina," the captain started, lightly tracing his thumb over her lower lip. "I love you too. I always have. Since the day I first laid eyes on you, my heart has been yours."

Born for the Sea | Hook & Ariel

As their hands met and touched, she felt something… something very odd. Like it was meant to happen, that she wanted it to happen. She smiled weakly as she heard the compliment come from his mouth. His eyes were familiar.. His face. Yet, they’d never met before.

Maybe they had met during the missing year. Maybe they had become friends, maybe acquaintances. All she could remember was having to find Snow and Belle to tell them something… And then the curse must’ve hit. Her eyes followed to where his head had began to sink a little bit. “Yes?”

Hook sighed, slowly closing his eyes a moment before meeting hers. He had to tell her. It wasn't fair to keep her memories from her, even if she didn't remember them. She had a right to know. "I...haven't been completely honest with you, darling," he admitted, feeling his heart begin to ache. He hoped she wouldn't hate him for this.

"When you first got here and I said we'd never met... Well that wasn't entirely true. We did meet...during the missing year. We sailed together, looking for your Prince. We defeated a fearsome pirate, had a few adventures, but we never found him. I'm sorry, Ariel. I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to lose hope. And because we didn't leave on the best of terms." The pirate sighed, watching her expression closely. He was fully ready to feel the loss of her hand in his and have it replaced with her hand slapped across his face. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."

Bar Fights and Bed Rest || Killian and Milah

She did nothing, said nothing but roll her eyes and gave a sly smile. A lazy hand was waved at the crew, before she gave a tug at the opening of her bruised husband’s coat. Gods, he really was a bit of a mess, it was sure to hurt more in the morning, or even in a few hours, and she couldn’t help but feel a small amount of guilt.

She sighed, stepping in to kiss the corner of his mouth and letting her head fall to his shoulder. “He didn’t hurt me any, darling. I knew it wouldn’t have come to that.” Another sigh and she lifted her head to find his eyes, lifting her hand to skim the bruise on his jaw with the lightest of touches. “Still, I worry. Every bloody time I’ll worry. Not that I doubt your ability in the slightest, but—” She let it trail off, shaking her head with a breath and a shake of her head. “Lets get you cleaned up, yeah?” A quick change of subject as she led him over to the bed; leaving him for a moment to fetch a towel from the changing room. “You know the drill, it’s going to sting, but if you’re a good lad…” she winked, shooting him a wide grin. “perhaps I won’t be.”

Killian smiled as his love kissed the corner of his mouth, wrapping his arms around her when she rested her head against him. "No need to worry, love," the captain assured her, rubbing her back gently. "I'm not going anywhere." He allowed her to lead him to the bed and flashed her a devilish smirk at her suggestion. "Yes, ma'am," he grinned.

As usual, the clean up did sting a bit. The ointment Milah used to treat his cuts always burned a bit but he cherished how gentle she was with him. He allowed her to do what she needed, wincing only sometimes and patiently awaiting her to finish. "Why thank you, treasure," Killian murmured when he was taken care of, pulling his wife into his arms. "But you know nothing makes me feel better than your sweet kisses," he said, looking at her from beneath his eyelashes with a playful gleam in his eyes.

A Leap of Faith | Hook & Belle

She nodded as he stepped out, letting a small smile flick across her face. Closing her eyes, Belle dropped her head forwards and ran her fingers through her hair. She had been unable to really think about what had happened while they were running. But now that she had a moment alone, she could really realise; she was free. She was out of the cell, away from Regina and her guards.

Belle lifted her head up when he walked back in. She smiled again and took the plate. “Its alright. Thank you,”

Hook nodded once before muttering a 'You're welcome' and taking a seat next to Belle. He settled into his chair and drummed his fingers against the wooden table as he watched the beauty. The man he was working for, Sir Maurice, hadn't said that his daughter was such a sight - not that a father usually said such things. Especially to the pirate tasked with rescuing her. But her beauty really was quite enchanting, even in her prison rags.

"So," the captain started as Belle ate. "Afraid space is limited on the ship. I won't make you sleep in the barracks with the gents, so you can have my bed. I'll take the hammock," he explained, nodding his head towards the swaying hammock in the corner of his quarters.

a confession she never thought she'd admit | regina & killian

Regina parked her car at the docks, her dark heart pounding in her chest, her stomach twisting into knots. She had no idea why she suddenly had the urge to do what she was about to do, it just all of a sudden came over her; the urge, the need, the desire just to run to the Captain and tell him the truth of her feelings, and tell him the true reason why she had never admitted it before; why she had kept it a secret for so long.

The once evil queen quickly exited her vehicle, practically running (despite the fact she was in heels) up the gangplank and across the deck. “Hook!” She yelled out in a strangled cry, her voice breaking. “Hook, are you here?!” Regina feverishly wiped the few tears she had let fall from her cheeks as she hurriedly made her way below deck, trying to find the pirate.

Captain Hook had been below deck sorting through some old charts when he heard the sounds of fast, light footsteps above him. He was about to draw his sword when he heard the familiar voice of his best friend calling for him. Regina, his Regina. Yes, his best friend, but also the one he'd loved since he met her but was too afraid of ruining their friendship to say anything.

She sounded frantic, so the captain quickly ran to meet her, nearly crashing into her in the process. When he saw he the tears in the Queen's eyes, Hook felt his pulse quicken. "Regina?" he asked with concern in his voice, swiping a tear away from her cheek with his thumb. "What's wrong, love?"

Born for the Sea | Hook & Ariel

Ariel looked to the pirate in sympathy as the words came out of his mouth. Someone in Storybrooke didn’t have a happy ending. It was hard to believe, even though he was a pirate. Even the villains in this town seemed to have okay lives. But he was different. Like she was. She looked down slightly. It was hard to see pain in people’s eyes… Though she knew what his pain was like.

She took his hand gently into her own and patted it. “You deserve your happy ending too…” she replied quietly. The redhead tried to smile at him, even though both of them weren’t doing so hot at the moment. He seemed nice, and after all, he was the only one that had checked on her.

Hook opened his eyes as Ariel took his hand, his breath hitching in his throat. He'd almost forgotten what her touch felt like. There were times during the past year, when the two of them would forget themselves and touch, even in the smallest ways. Hook had lived for those moments and this one was just as lovely. "You're a sweet lass," the pirate said softly, looking at their hands before meeting her big, sea-green eyes and found himself lost in them.

They'd sailed together for a long time after the defeat of Blackbeard, looking for Eric. But throughout that time, Hook had fallen for her. But he'd kept it to himself for her sake because she still pined for her True Love. But when he'd received word that the Lady Swan needed help, that her family was in danger, Hook felt obligated to help. That had lead to a strange, upsetting fight between the two of them and she stayed behind. They hadn't left on good terms. His heart wrenched as he looked at her. He wanted to tell her. "Ariel...," Hook said her name, trailing off to look at their hands again. "I...I need to tell you something, love."

Bar Fights and Bed Rest || Killian and Milah

Of course his men would goad and cheer, so was the life they led. It was expected of them. Milah stood and watched near the man she had fallen into moments earlier, eyes full of worry as he took a good few blows, one right in the jaw and successfully splitting his lip. A gasp, and she covered a hand over her mouth frowning into it as she watched them continue on.

The tavern left a mess, furniture and a now a broken window, she sighed upon Killian’s approach, giving him a sad smile as he left a blood stained lip imprint on her knuckles. “You bloody idiot.” Whispered, and there was a short breath of air and something akin of a laugh that followed. Nimble fingers reached into his breast pocket to fish out a good few coins and Milah set them on the bar with a light smile. “Should pay for your costs, and a bottle of something strong, if you please…and a room.” The keep passed her a bottle of grain alcohol and she gave him a nod before she turned back to Killian. Hand finding the small of his back, “Come, the crew can take care of them selves for a night. While I take care of you.”

Killian chuckled when Milah called him an idiot and grinned suggestively as she ordered their booze and a room, following closely behind her. "Ooh, will you now?" he chuckled. "I do love it when you play nurse." The pirate threw her a wink before turning towards his crew. "G'night, gents!" he shouted, saluting them before bowing as they cheered. He turned with a laugh and followed his wife up the stairs to their room.

It was probably one of the nicest rooms the place had, and Killian had to admit his ringing head felt better once they shut the door and the loud chatter and music from below was muffled. He shook his head a bit before finding Milah again and taking her hands in his. "I'm sorry he got his hands on you, love, I should have been there sooner," he confessed, looking down at their joined hands, his bloodied thumb running over her knuckles.

20. My muse has to kiss yours to turn them back into themselves.

"Reggie?" Hook asked as he entered the Mayoral Mansion and walked into the foyer. He’d gotten a call from the Queen not moments before telling him to come over quick, that it was urgent. So he quickly made his way over to one of his very best friend’s homes.

"Reginaaaa?" he called again, wondering where she could be if it was so urgent. He walked into the sitting room and as he looked around, he saw a big, ugly toad sitting on a wood table. The pirate shrunk back at the sight with a startled gasp. If Regina knew there was a toad in her house, she’d lose it. Maybe that’s why she’d called him. Maybe she needed him to get rid of it for her. Women.

Hook rolled his eyes and strode towards the toad. “You know where I could find the Queen, mate?” he asked the amphibian sarcastically with a chuckle.

"No, no one can help me but you." The voice echoed out from the toad, followed by a loud croak. "You see, no amount of magic can break the spell — that is, except for the magic of true friendship. You, Hook, are my best friend and that is why you are the only one who can help me." The woman tried to contain her laughter, as to not give away the prank.

"Hook, here’s what I need you to do — first, take me into your hands slowly."

Hook stared at the toad incredulously, his eyes flicking about a moment before landing on the amphibian again. He had to admit that he was flattered about being the Queen's best friend but he'd never heard of True Friendship being a source of magic, but he didn't see why it couldn't be. "I'm flattered, Regina," Hook offered with a cautious smile. "I'd be honored to help you."

Slowly, he took his slimy friend into his hand carefully. "Okay," he said seriously with a nod. "Now what? How do I get you back?"

Born for the Sea | Hook & Ariel

Ariel’s small sobbing noises stopped as the words came out of his mouth. Gentleman? Concerned? Her eyes softened slightly, though her face still read a confused sort of mood. Most pirates she had met were rude and only took an interest in women if they wanted something more from them… But he was sweet. And very caring. Yes, he was a captain of a large ship, though there was something else about him, something he wasn’t tell her.

"Uh… I mean, thanks. I appreciate it… I really do." she paused to sigh a little. "I don’t feel like I can talk about it with anyone… Everyone here has their happy ever after… And mine is just gone. No one here is going to understand that." Her eyes began to water again as a small tear rolled down her cheek.

Hook felt his heart twinge as Ariel spoke of her seemingly impossible happy ending and it killed him inside. Her of all people deserved her happy ending and somewhere inside him he hoped it could be with him, that they could both get their happy ending with each other. But that was absurd. She didn't even know him. And even if she did, she'd hate him.

"I am sorry, love," the captain sighed. "You deserve your happy ending...," he trailed off and rested his head against the wall. "I do know how you feel though. My One True Love is...resting with the sea as well." Hook closed his eyes against the memory of his lost Milah.
