@lca3349

Love to listen to music, books, anime, manga, FANFICS, anything to do with fandom. Posting things that are interesting from Tumblr. And love voltage related games, (do not question why!😝😈) role plays,Canada, posting weird things. Posting stupid things. Posting random things. Voltage taught me things. Don't blame when I get back to school with more...knowledge. Please don't follow me, I'm a really boring and inactive person.

I’ve been staring at this for 5 minutes

That’s what it looks like. That’s really what it looks like

Being out in the ocean is actually so scary because when you look really far out you can kind of see how the Earth is rounded out. It looks like a few miles ahead you’re just gonna fall off or something. Also fun trick: if ur on mobile, double tap zoom in and slide the picture side to side. It looks like you’re actually there looking left to right

DO THAT DO IT RIGHT NOW

I don’t get why people hate immigrants so much… Like they’re literally just… People… From another location….

In part it is xenophobia, which is a leftover from prehistoric times where it kept us safe. Now it’s useless, sort of like the tail bone.

Being suspicious of the strangers over the hill was definitely an evolutionary advantage in more brutal times, but those times have passed, yet in-group affirming suspicion of out-group persons remains one of our base instincts.

I guess the world moved to fast for us to de-evolve this trait, though thankfully, intelligence gives us the ability to superceded it, if we choose to.

Xenophobia doesn’t stem from evolutionary instincts. It’s the result of artificial borders and states.

I mean, yes, borders are artificial, but that doesn’t mean they’re anything new. They may be more prominently defined now, but we have literally never as a species lived in a completely borderless world.  And yes, states are different to how we used to live, but only because of their scale.

For all of modern human history (from around 2 million years ago) up until the development of settlements with the transition from hunter-gathering to agriculture (around 10,000 years ago) we existed exclusively in small multi-family cooperative bands of a few tens of people, linked into tribal societies of a few hundred to a few thousand people.

These tribal societies would have been competing for scarce resources and territory, in a hostile world. Bone records show many met violent ends. In fact, an average of 15% of all prehistoric skeletons show signs of intentional violence.

So, for 99.5% of the time that we have existed as modern humans (and probably much longer before), we lived in small groups, in a world where, if you weren’t wary of strangers, you might get an axe to the head, and then not be able to pass on your stranger-welcoming genes to the next generation.

That time - the vast majority of our history - shaped who we are and defined our core instincts.

But, that’s not to say there’s no hope; the human mind is incredibly complex and extremely adaptable, it’s our greatest strength. As I said, we have the intelligence to be able to shape our own minds, to form our own views on inter-group relations.

I guess what I’m saying is, if we don’t consciously make this effort, it’s incredibly easy to fall back into these primal instincts which, yes, can be exacerbated by external systems but are inherent to all of us.

What’s artificial, really, is this global world we have been thrust into in the last few centuries, hence why there have been so much problems trying to get people to adapt to it, though adapt, I’m sure, we will.

Just Daddy and his rowdy boys. ( ^ω^ )

Half the reason I love his route is watching him and the MC act like annoyed parents.

Anonymous asked:

How does your husband feel about you playing otome games? im trying to convince mine that married ppl do still play them >_>

CERB IS FINE WITH IT THAT’S HOW WE MET AFTER ALL

I’m actually not married so it’s not an issue for me. As far as future boyfriends go they will be on a need to know basis on my otome habit, as in all he needs to know is that I need it LOL.  *flips hair*

Kidding aside, there are many ladies in the fandom who have husbands or boyfriends who simply shake their heads and look at them with amused, loving tolerance lol. Maybe some of these ladies might be willing to put their two cents on this post and give some advice on how they talked to their hubbies? Because I am literally no help and will just tell you to tell him to shut the eff up (sorry I’m a diva)

I’m married and my hubby gives zero craps that I play them. I show him stuff related to it and he just rolls his eyes. He’s more worried about the money than the content. He’s a comic book fanatic so he has no leg to stand on anyway ;)

One more testimony to help you convince your hubby anon-chan. My poor hubby has seen me go down the road of otome hell for the past 3 years and he kinda just accepted it lol. He actually loves teasing me about my “good looking men”. He knows about Seiji and Nomura too. (and about my yaoi interests, although that was by accident lol) I think he is aware and accepting because his own mother is crazy about dramas, and he knows it’s a form of escapism that we ladies need in our lives, to de-stress. I don’t think otome is or should be limited to a certain age group. I don’t know why you need to convince your hubby but don’t forget about him and just find the right balance to give your love to your pixelmen and your hubby and everything is going to be fine :)

My Bf laughs with me lol. He’s 100% chill with it and sometimes makes jokes about him needing to get funnier to complete with “the comedian”

My boyfriend borrows my phone to play my routes.
