{ ♕ - As doon as the odd flute, of unknown origins was played, an ominous, almost ghostly sound echoed through the rubbles and pillars, almost as if it was trying to find the one that it was built for.

Once the song ran through the entire place, an earthquake could be felt.

A huge stairway, that seemed to be sealed away in order to avoid possible trespassers appeared in front of the champion, as if it was inviting her to climb. It was her choice to do so. If she chose to just turn around and walk away, the flute would only echo hollowly the next time it was played.

But if she chose to climb….a powerful figure was waiting for her, as it was summoned by the sound of the musical instrument..}

The flute's melody echoed morosely, leaving Hikari to try and focus herself on its dissipating sound. The area rumbled deep, a grand staircase of cut rock coming forth, unfurling at her feet, and Spear Pillar shook in its brokenness, and this was it she was going to die and she couldn't even say her proper goodbyes--

Holding the instrument close as her only means of protection, Hikari began the slow climb, unable to reach for one of the Poké Balls in her duffle bag. The stairs felt as if they would crumble under her, legs shaking with every step, and she couldn't think straight, let alone concentrate on not falling. But at the culminating of it all, a vast, clear platform stretched out before her, revealing a strange being, almost ethereal--

Admittedly, the Champion had no idea where Rowan and his staff had found the flute; but carbon dating had proven it to be an artifact eons old -- they couldn't quite even trace the era of its making. And yet they'd sworn that if it were authentic, it was the stuff of legend. If so, then...

The cold wind overshadowing Mt. Coronet at such a high altitude smarted at her skin, but the girl already felt breathless, and God she could not stop crying, barely audible sobs amplified in her ears as hulking and heavy and altogether too loud in the face of the unknown figure. "...I... I, um--"

Eterna City spoke of history -- mystic tales of yore wove into its structure, connecting the settlement with the rest of the region in its humble sameness and gentle breeze. They were really here for the Gym challenge, but for the lore surrounding Eterna and the Sinnoh region itself -- Hikari was apt to soak up more of it, if only to broaden her worldview. She had before been whispered to of legends and fairy-stories, and only now did their cultural significance occur to her, the girl lost in thought staring up at the statue towering above. Tatarime floated close to her, twitching with impatience.

Ah... The plates appeared to have been torn off. It was a long while yet, though, before she even recognised the presence of another human being by the monument (and this one a man much older than she was: he was likely close to thirty). Hikari stepped back reflexively to allow him a better viewing position, an apology escaping her--

but wait a second, his features were strikingly familiar. Wasn't he that weird guy from the lake a short while ago?

griseaplatinum liked for a starter.

Touko muttered, hiding with the girl behind a few bushes. What she had done might have crossed the line. She shouldn’t have practiced her pokéball throwing in an area like this, but she ended up throwing right through a car window, setting the alarm off. Luckily there wasn’t anyone around but the girl, and she had quickly rushed them to hide.

"Don’t tell anyone about this, okay?"

@griseaplatinum

"Wh--"

Before the girl could breathe out a word she was pulled behind a few bushes, a yelp escaping her; the car alarm of the vehicle with the broken window blared in the night, ringing dully in her ears. The only thing she'd seen beforehand had been a misfired Poké Ball -- promptly Hikari backed up, sliding away from the stranger in the snow until her back hit foliage.

"Oh, Arceus! What's happening? Who are you!? You're going to get us arrested--"
