Here's a look at the process for a couple of panels from Saint In The City. From my thumbs to inks, and then the final product with fabulous colors by KM Russell and lettering by the wonderful Jeff McClelland! This is my usual process for panels, only now I complete the whole thing digitally, from thumbs to inks. In this image, the thumbs and pencils were done traditionally. Saint In The City and Murder Culture, another story illustrated by me, will be included in the comic anthology Imaginary Drugs which includes a load of really cool stories from some incredible up-and-coming creators like Michael McDermott, Christine Larsen, Chris Peterson, Shawn Aldridge, and a few others. We've put together a Kickstarter and are shooting for our $10k stretch goal right now! Help us out, make a pledge and/or share the link with your friends!

Mike has gathered an awesome group of artists and writers together to make a unique little anthology called Imaginary Drugs featuring some really cool stories. Pictured here is the cover I did for the book, which is colored by Christine Larsen, who has several stories in the book that she has written and illustrated herself. Also pictured are the first three pages of Saint In The City, written by Michael McDermott, illustrated by me, with colors by KM Russell and letters by Jeff McClelland. SITC follows Michael Morrisson, the bastard son of Satan, as he works a security gig for Maison, an 8 year-old psychic elf girl. In addition to Saint In The City, Mike and I have teamed up for another short story called Murder Culture, which tells the story of Natalie, an immortal former celebrity employed by the Illuminati as a black ops agent. We have a lot of cool rewards available, including custom commissions by me, and the chance to have yourself drawn into the pages of Murder Culture as a cameo! A bit late on posting these, but here are a few zombie marker commissions I did for folks around Halloween!

My warm-up sketch for the day with some quick colors. Val Velocity from The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys. Are any of you guys reading this book? Becky Cloonan's art is beautiful, and Dan Jackson's colors are so vibrant and really work well with Becky's lines. Gerard Way and Shaun Simon have crafted a really cool story with original, interesting characters. The book actually continues the story told in My Chemical Romance's last album, but the book works great even if you've never listened to the album (I didn't hear a single track until after I finished ssue 4). And if you are not a MCR fan, don't let Way's name run you off, he writes great comics (see also: The Umbrella Academy.) Anyway, yeah, it's a great comic and this was a fun little piece to draw. :)
