My heart is breaking for my city and for the wonderful people who make it beautiful. I am hurting thinking of all those people who went out to enjoy a lovely day and were met with infuriating, senseless violence.
I live 10 minutes from where the attack happened in Toronto. It is one of the safest, most diverse and welcoming neighbourhoods in the entire city. I walk down that street all the time. It is home to a large Korean immigrant community and just up the street is a large Persian community. It's 5 minutes from a large Jewish community and Eastern European community and Filipino community. And so on. It is one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in one of the most diverse cities in the entire world and I always felt safe here.
My love and my heart goes out to all of Toronto and especially to all of North York. Let us keep this place always a beacon of light and love and strength in difference
Can we talk about the whiny white supremacist assholes who had a meltdown on the HQ App today because the host gave a small speech about the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's death and his importance. People literally jumping on the chat to screech about "don't bring politics into the game" and "I'm leaving"
Good you salty racist bitches, LEAVE
Goodbye
I managed to screen cap a couple of them. There were so many of them and many worse than this but this is what I managed to cap
I’m going to appreciate this until my death

i don't really know how to say this other than good luck, i hope everything turns out fine for you. And I hope you're on your way to being fully happy.
Thank you so much sweet stranger :)
I hope I am too. I just don’t want to feel like I’m hiding part of myself from my family anymore. I’ve been imagining this so manat times in my head over the last few years. I know I’ll be a mess but it’s my birthday soon and I don’t want to go another year not living my truth completely.
I’ll update on here about everything as it happens and thank you for your kind words anon
Hey! I saw that you're having a lot of feelings cause you're coming out, so i just wanted to say good luck! One Day At A Time broke me like hayley kiyoko broke you and i found myself thinking abt coming out every second of the day and crying for tiny reasons and in the end it all turned out fine. I managed to tell my mom while crying a lot, just /crying/ because i had so many emotions bottled up. So, I'd say, feel your feelings and cry as much as you have to. You're ok. You're amazing!
Thank you so much sweet anon!!
I think about coming out all the time too and since I’ve decided to finally do it before my birthday I’ve been having random moments of panic throughout the day. It’s just so much emotion but I know I’ll feel better on the other side. It’s hard hiding who you are from the people you love. I felt I’ve had this whole life on the side my family doesn’t know about and that makes me so sad. I want them to know who I am completely.
I saw a scene in some Love, Simon gifs where the kid is told he can finally exhale and honestly that’s how it feels. I’m glad One Day At A Time could do for you what Hayley Kiyoko did for me. I don’t think a lot of straight people understand sometimes, what representation means to some of us and how it makes us feel so much comfortable in our own skin.
I’ll update on everything as it happens because the community here is so wonderful and supportive. Thank you for sharing your story with me anon and making me feel better
I am a mess right now. I decided I’m going to come out to my mom and my brother and my sister before my birthday in two weeks because I don’t want to go another year without living my truth. I decided tonight. I just want to let go of this, I want to be free. And I’m lying here terrified and elated and just full of so many feelings and it’s just so much. I don’t know what to do with myself

Elise Bauman winning the Audience Choice Award at the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards
I had completely forgotten the Canadian Screen Awards were on tonight and I was flipping through channels and landed on the Awards just as Elise Bauman won and gave an awesome speech about queer representation and the power of an audience who is vocal about having that representation and that just made my night a lot better
Imagine being a writer, and then after your book’s release and when the hype goes through the roof, you write fanfiction for it, then you tweet “there is a fanfic out there that is totally canon. Try and find it.” Then all your readers are scouring every fanfic website, trying to find which one is yours, meanwhile helping all these fanfic writers get readers.
I mean david gaider did this. david gaider wrote dragon age 2 fanfiction on the kink meme and we still don’t know for sure which one is his
WHAT
WHAT
WHAT
Ah I remember this, because Gaider was talking (on Twitter) about how he spent a lot of time on the kink meme reading stories. Then thousands of kink meme authors freaked out, wondering if Gaider came across theirs and then he winky face announced writing fanfic on the kink meme for fun.
The DA Kink Meme Scandal was a classic.
Took awhile, but you’re welcome.

Friends, never forget who Sarah Burke was, and what she did for the world of sports. They say people die twice, when they are no longer alive, and when somebody says their name for the last time. And if we have anything to say about it, Sarah Burke ain’t dying that second death anytime soon. So wear that sticker on your bucket, keep the tag alive, and never forget the name that is Sarah Burke.
