Can you imagine being Mr. Darcy and throwing yourself into a lake in a fit of agonized yearning for the woman who has rejected your marriage proposal and whom you think you shall never see again. After getting thoroughly soaked, you stride out of that lake undressed and she is there. She is at your house and you are indecent. You then have to make the most agonizing small talk, all the time aware that you are soaking wet and half-dressed, while you both politely pretend you aren’t. You inquire after her parents’ health twice. 

It’s a wonder he didn’t expire on the spot.

She won that season too!  She’s so cool and upbeat

Despite being cool.and upbeat (and she is) she also suffers from anxiety and recently started speaking about it in social media. Instagram posta detailing her inability to even go downstairs and how support her fam are etc. She also recently did a bbc documentary about anxiety disorders.

Nadiya is also a perfect example of why diversity in media is important. A government report on community cohesion said she’s done “more for British-Muslim relations than 10 years of government policy”, because her presence on TV has helped to humanize the image of the hijab-wearing Muslim woman in the eyes of the public. She’s not even really a political activist or anything - she’s just a nice, honest, down-to-earth person. Sometimes that’s all it really takes to convince people.

Y’all I’ve made SO MANY OF THESE RECIPES from Time to Eat. They are fucking phenomenal!!

Time to Eat is SO GOOD and if she’s in somebody’s home to teach them a recipe and there’s a baby she just holds or plays with the baby so the parent can practice doing the recipe as she guides them but also you can tell she just really wants to cuddle and play with these sweet little kids! Her energy is just so thoroughly genuinely warm!

the term ‘spirit animal’ is racism. the horror movies involving ‘cryptic forest creatures’ that are really just bad re-makes of native legends are racist. the idea that you can smudge while being white is racist. leave out culture alone. throw your shitty plastic dream catchers in the garbage. you’re not having a pow wow you are holding a party and being racist.
