okay a concept:
The 1 and invisible string, but from bettys perspective YEARS later.
The 1 is when she’s finally healed from the heartbreak maybe at 18/19 and she’s a bit nostalgic about her and James and knows that if things had gone differently they could have been great.

Invisible string is she’s happily married and James is happily married too. Like just kind of reminiscing on her youth and recognizing that there’s no use in holding a grudge against him.

people think that just bc taylor is in a healthy relationship that she can’t write break up songs but what people fail to recognize is that the trauma of a deep heartbreak can be etched into your memory forever
and there’s a magical thing called ~empathy~ which allows you to understand how someone is feeling even if you’re not going through that exact situation
I know it’s a break up song but the 1 gives me an inexplicable amount of dopamine
the power I hold when people in my life see/hear taylor swift and they think of me
