You’re not less of a boy for liking to wear skirts You’re not less of a boy for wanting to wear makeup You’re not less of a boy for knitting or sewing You’re not less of a boy for expressing “softer” emotions You’re not less of a boy for wanting to feel pretty.

Boys come in all different types. It’s okay to be a soft boy, a pretty boy, a femininely dressed boy. You’re still a boy. The only thing that determines how much of a boy you are is how YOU define your boyhood. And no one, nothing in the world, can take that away from you.

All of these are a 10000% true, but I want to single it sewing and knitting in particular because I happen to be writing a huge academic paper on it and teaching a knitting class at the same time. I have ONE male student, and he was really disheartened but he said it felt like a practical skill.

My dudes it IS just a practical survival skill. Historically, sailors and soldiers knit. It was how they survived. Historically, boys were taught to knit and sew to help the family survive, and they stopped when their other duties took precedence. It was patriotic to knit, because you were manufacturing things at home, because you could take the burden off your troops, or send them a thing they needed, male or female, it was a good thing until VERY recently.

So if anyone gives you shit, point out that you will survive them, that comfort and beauty are genderless. You are a boy, and they are a cold fool.

Why does Meet The Robinsons get no love?

It has singing frogs

And time travel

And a man is married to a hand puppet

And a tyrannosaurus rex randomly shows up halfway through but is unable to do anything because the people he was chasing run into a corner and he has little arms

And the villan is a hat

I legitimately do not understand what’s not to love about this movie

YES!

Can we please talk about the billboards in the 70′s?

  • They literally went outside the box.
  • They are so much colorful and vibrant
  • Some of them were as simple as “spreading love” and “getting high”
  • They had style
  • They were unique

More billboards like these on the streets please.
