Okay, damnit, I couldn’t resist.

Colorwise, I found the perfect yarn to accompany my lovely handknit from @blacksheepgoods. The end result is going to be a cowl. It isn’t far enough along that you can really see the pattern yet, but I’m using the Quilting Stitch, which will run the blue yarn in a sort of diamond pattern over the WildChild background.

I really hope this turns out well!

This looks sooo freakin’ cool!  Reminds me of lattice fencing.  I can’t wait to see more as it progresses! xx

Lookee lookee lookee what arrived today!!!!

This is my skein of Whimsical Child from @blacksheepgoods. It’s so pretty! It’s so soft!

I mustmustmustabsolutelymust finish my son’s cardi before I’m allowed to start knitting with this. No, really, I need to finish a thing before I start another thing.

Love it when my customers love my yarn!  And for the record @foenixfyre, I use whatever excuse I can think of to cast on with new yarn no matter how many WIPs I have on the go (and I do have a LOT of them).  Doesn’t everyone? ;)

Oh, I can’t talk about my WIPs. It’s embarrassing. I have project ADD. The other problem is that my son is 2.5 yr old and I made the mistake of not sizing up. I need to finish his cardi this year or he probably won’t ever wear it!

Been there done that.  Oh well you can use that as an excuse to cast on another one, in a bigger size this time.  What’s one more WIP?  I certainly won’t tell anyone ;)

I spun and wove this throw a few years ago. It is one of my favorite pieces. Part of that is because of being able to cross something off my bucketlist, and part of that is because I really love this weave structure.

The fleece is a natural gray Romney fleece from Triple R Farms. I spun the entire fleece, and divided up the skeins according to evenness, with the most consistent skeins being reserved for the weft. Actually, I was pretty consistent with the spinning, so for the warp, there was only one skein that got spread along the width of the warp among the other skeins used for warp chains.

The weave structure is a variation on a 3/1 rib. I did have a bit of a problem with the selvedges, which I have since learned how to avoid.

More on this throw can be found here.

Do you have a favourite crochet hook and size?  I do.  I love my 3.5mm size E crochet hook more than anything!  So that’s why even looking at another crochet hook feels kinda like cheating!

That being said  .. take a look at these little lovelies made by Grizzly Mountain Arts … wow.

Hexipuffs! 458 of them this time. They’re about the width and 3/4ths the length of a single bed (pillow included for scale) so still a long way to go until i get to my queen size bed goal. Apologies for the super shitty lighting. I fussed about too much when i was laying them out so by the time i was done the Sun was gone, but hey, who can resist fussing about with hexipuffs to make them look perfect?
