Man this sad…so sad. As a black woman, this statement makes me angry. So many little black girls out there think of themselves as ugly or not good enough because they don’t look ‘a certain way’. I can remember as a child begging my mother to make my hair wavy and my skin lighter like one of my friends because I felt she was pretty and I was ugly. I’ve finally learned to love myself for who I am and I am so proud of the skin I’m in. That took me 20 something years to learn. So for someone to sit here and say that being of one race makes you inferior to those that are mixed is absolutely disgusting. That right there is a major problem. I don’t understand her response and it will probably never make sense to me. That’s my two cents on this nonsense. Disappointing.

Not only is she fortunate enough to be given such an opportunity to showcase her talents on a major scale/use this as a platform to show self-love, support her race as well as others and be somewhat of a role-model to those that seem to look up to her… but she decides to use this platform as a way to downplay a race she clearly doesn’t identify with, spout unintelligible nonsense about race and glorify a race she clearly believes is “superior”. Love has no colour, however this statement right her shows that she in fact believes that it does. “Survival of the fittest… mixing ethnicities have not only the strongest and best qualities of one race but of another, which actually makes them genetically superior to someone who is only one race” Now I have heard a lot of stupid bullshit in my time, but this right here is a fucking embarrassment. Being of one race makes you just as superior to those of mixed ones, and if we really want to go there… Being of one race makes it easier to identify. This right here isn’t even about race as I believe EVERYONE is beautiful and so is DIVERSITY, however this right here is an excuse as to why NOBODY has ever seen her post a black man as her MCM, or a black woman as an actress she looks up to. This right here is an excuse for the actions she continues to display.
Dating outside of your race doesn’t make you a sell out. Constantly praising another race whilst disregarding your own… DOES.

. There is nothing wrong with dating someone outside your race. Just like there is nothing wrong with being multiracial. But when you come off as looking down on people that look just like you…that’s where I have a problem. Also don’t downplay the issue of color. It’s an issue and ignoring it and acting like everything is rainbow and butterflies is part of the problem.

Amen to everything you ladies stated! Representation Matters. Its as simple as that. It is truly disappointing that she is full of self-loathing and wants to bring other black people down with her. I felt a strong obligation to call her out because her thinking, language, and behavior are not only harmful, but destructive.
As a black woman who loves my black sisters, I am shocked that she had the audacity and unmitigated gall to believe it is okay to devalue us. She was so bold in answering that fan back; so confident in her assertions, yet so utterly and sincerely wrong. Unlike her, I know my beauty, worth, and value. In a world where I see Michelle Obama, Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, Beyonce, and Oprah. I am affirmed. I know that I am enough. I cannot ride for her.
What she wrote was foolishness. There is nothing wrong with dating outside of your race. Equally true is that there is nothing wrong with dating inside your own race. She really had to say all of this? She got issues, man. Just love who you love. No need to down anyone else.

I actually can’t believe she went as far as to say all of this you know. In fact I can believe it because she tends to speak before she thinks, says things that seem so smart in her heard, but in reality are ignorant as hell and has no filter.
