Idk about this question but this did set me down a mental rabbit hole on what is considered as sentient.
Can a fruit really become sentient without a brain? If an avocado suddenly were to start walking and talking, would it be considered as having its own, personal thoughts? or simply copying what’s around them
Parrots can talk, but we wouldn’t consider them sentient like a human, even though they have a brain
We can have intellectual discussions with AI, but we don’t consider them sentient due to being programmed that way and fed information from the internet, therefore not having its own unique thoughts and feelings
I feel like if the avocado became self aware of its self and everything around it, what it is and what it isn’t, it’d have a crisis of itself
