The aforementioned kiss came much sooner than expected, but Montaro gradually sank into it and relaxed his shoulders, allowing Chou to hold it out for as long as she pleased. Even after they pulled away, her scent stayed with him. The feeling lingered on his lips. Good God… She smelled nice!

Even if he didn’t look it, he was readying himself for this. Truth be told, he hadn’t expected to get this far in so little time– in fact, he’d… initially planned on spewing his feelings to her, bolting in the opposite direction and probably never speaking to her again.

These were seemingly the only words he picked up from her monologue just then, because this was all he could manage to eke out before he slowly and shakily brought both hands up to shield his now gaping mouth.
He couldn’t believe it. Well… He could believe it, but the idea of having a living, breathing human being think so highly of him– like-like him– was so foreign.
This was a good kind of foreign.
“Screw the world. You’ve just made the the happiest man in the universe.”
Was that a giggle? That was a giggle.
It was okay? It was fine? It was good? Everything was okay?
“T--The universe..?”
One eye open- peeking, peering as though this were just an illusion. The universe.
“I... I don-don’t know what to say? You... Y-You’ve... H-Hayashi-kun, can I... do... something?”
