Mythology/Folklore: Kumiho
A Kumiho or Gumiho is a creature that appears in the oral tales and legends of Korea, and are akin to werefoxes or European fairies. It can freely transform, among other things, into a beautiful woman often set out to seduce boys, and eat their liver or heart. Originating in ancient Chinese myths dating back centuries, the Korean kumiho shares many similarities to the Chinese huli jing and the Japanese kitsune. In later Korean literature, a Kumiho were often depicted as bloodthirsty half-fox, half-human creatures that wandered cemeteries at night, digging up graves to feast on human hearts.

We solve crimes. I blog about it, and he forgets his pants. I wouldn’t hold out too much hope.

I didn’t just want to play [Anne Boleyn] as this femme fatale – she was a genuine evangelical with a real religious belief in the Reformation. The show was an absolute joy because it was an amalgamation of my two greatest passions – drama and history. I read everything by Starkey… good old Starkey… opinionated Starkey… Antonia Fraser, all of them. But there is a lot of sex and violence in the programme, so it’s hard to explain it to the guy in the street who’s saying, ‘The Tudors? Tits, man!‘
