OKAY BITCHES LISTEN UP as you can probably see my dear country happens to be trending rn and if you look at the tag you'll mostly see vacationy stuff and beautiful beaches! Well ERASE THAT CAUSE I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT SUMMER AINT THE REASON WHY THE TAG IS TRENDING. There is so much bullshit happening here in the Philippines and it can all be summarized to some dick trying to establish a dictatorship here by proclaiming the martial-law-without-a-label that is the Anti-Terrorism Bill. With this bill, the police are allowed to arrest without warrants on the basis of suspicion so basically if you're a filipino and you criticize the president on social media or in rallies YOU CAN BE ARRESTED WITHOUT WARRANTS AND IT WILL BE LEGAL and this infringes on Section 4 of our Bill of Rights which is our Right to Freedom of Speech. There are other laws that this bill directly violates but all in all the safety and lives of many Filipinos will be endangered. Check the hashtag #JunkTerrorBill to find out more and help spread the news. Things are definitely not as happy go lucky as the tumblr trend algorithm portrays.

they’ve already passed this on the final reading!!

i know with everything that’s been happening rn with BLM, little of you guys would take notice of this happening in a small third-world country.

it may not be equally as important to BLM but is important to us Filipinos!

if this bill passes, any potential threat (that includes activism, retweet, reposting, posting original work, and memes, that are against the government.) posted, the user will be imprisoned.

THEY RECOGNIZE ACTIVISM AS TERRORISM!

we are being silenced by our own government from speaking out and fighting back for all the shitty things they’ve done to our country.

i might get in trouble after posting this, but as long as the bill hasn’t been signed i will continue speaking out against our tyrannic government!

hoping you guys can recognize this issue as well, and not just BLM.

SPECIALLY FILIPINOS WHO CONTINUE TO BE VOCAL ABOUT BLM BUT NOT ABOUT THE SOCIAL ISSUES HAPPENING IN OUR COUNTRY

Guys please, everything is so scary here now. Soon, we're not going to be allowed to speak out about our government. It allows police and military to abuse their power even more. It's not signed yet, so we can technically keep sharing this but the moment it's signed

It will put us in danger to even MENTION this again.

Please help spread the word and do your research about this. I know people are busy talking about BLM and Pride Month and I'm so happy that people are speaking out about that but I hope you can speak out about this too.

Because the moment our president signs this bill, us Filipinos won't be able to unless we're willing to put ourselves at risk.

Our own people, our own government is making us suffer. And not enough people are talking about it.

And that scares the living daylights out of me because this is not something I thought I'd ever have to live through.

Tagging some people to help spread the word, please:

“I’m speaking to you from my heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but fuck that. Today is about innocent people who were halfway through their process, we don’t know what George Floyd could have achieved, we don’t know what Sandra Bland could have achieved, but today we’re going to make sure that won’t be an alien thought to our young ones. Every black person in here remembered when another person reminded you that you were black. So none of you out there, all those protesters on the other side, protesting against what we want to do, protesting against what we want to try and achieve, burn you, this is so vital. I need you to understand how painful this shit is. I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing and that isn’t the case anymore, that was never the case anymore.” John Boyega at The Black Lives Matter protest in Hyde Park June 3rd 2020

Please, if you have the time please sign these Petitions. If you don’t have time, make time. What is going on in the world right now is not okay, and those police officers need to get what’s coming to them. (Not saying every cop is bad, you know what i’m trying to say though i hope.)

If you are unable to donate, you can still do your part by signing right now.

This is the world we live in, and we need to take a stand for what is right.

HOW TO DONATE TO BLM WHEN YOU HAVE NO MONEY! a black woman named zoe amira posted a video on youtube. this video is an hour long and filled with art and music from black creators. 100% of the ad revenue from the video will be dispersed between various blm organizations, including bail-out funds for protesters. it has a ton of ads, and in result will rack up a ton of revenue. turn off your adblocker and do not skip ads. between each time watch 3-5 other videos (mix it up) before restarting. this will ensure you aren’t marked as spam by youtube. don’t mute the video itself. and let. it. play.

donations will be dispersed among the following organizations:

1. brooklyn bail fund

2. minnesota freedom fund

3. atlanta action network

4. black visions collective

5. george floyd’s family gofundme

6. blacklivesmatter.com

7. reclaim the bloc

8. aclu

9. the bail project inc

10. chicago bond

Hey folks, this is not your typical post about incorrect quotes.

I want to address a serious issue today, and most of you probably know what’s been going on in the US.

The killing of George Floyd started another serious and necessary debate on Police brutality in the states. (And I think not just there. Every country is affected in some way or another.)

My heart doesn’t ache, no. My heart is bleeding and crying out of pain about what has been going on for days now. What people have been going through for years and years. This is not the first case of police brutality against POC, nor the second, and it probably isn’t the last one.

It happened so many times already that I can’t count them all. Our world has lost so many beautiful souls to this never-ending issue. Additionally to this, we lost so many brothers and sisters of color who were part of the LGBTQ+ community too. Even though it is pride month, I can’t enjoy and celebrate it as much as I want to.

But now is the time to act. Now more than ever! We all have a voice, and I’m sure as hell using mine. And I want you to do the same.

40 Ways you can help right now shows you different techniques and approaches to support the #blacklivesmatter movement in various forms.

Everyone’s able to do something. Even if you don’t have the money to donate, or you’re not from the US, share articles, draw attention to it in some way. Being silent about this puts you on the side of the offenders.

I understand that I will never understand. However, I stand with all of you!!! Credit goes to @sfbucketlist on instagram for these 40 ways you can help right now.

GENERAL RULES OF A PROTEST:

1. Don't wear contacts.

2. If you get tear gassed, when you get home, put the contaminated clothes in a plastic bag for later decontamination and shower with cold water to avoid opening your pores.

3. Come with friends and don't get separated.

Avoid leaving the crowd and watch out for police snatch squads.

4. Beware undercovers, but beware snitch jacketing and collaborator 'peace police' even more.

5. The far right is very good at combing through pictures and doxxing people. Mask up. Also its covid and with mace and pepper spray bring extra..once its hit with those itll suffocate you and be rendered useless.

6. Write any necessary phone numbers you may need directly on your skin in sharpie.

7. Have an offsite plan for emergencies if you have not been heard from by X time coordinated with someone offsite.

8. Make sure all mobile devices are charged!!

9. If you plan on going to jail, plan it: bail, lawyer, time off from work, witnesses i.e.: a cadre. Don't just go to jail without training.

10. Beware folks inciting violence. Most of them are police feds. Watch out for hook ups for the same reason. Get to know the crowd. They will set you up.

+ Deactivate "touch id" on your iPhone -- they cannot legally force you to open your locked phone via your passcode.

Black activists on Twitter have been sending this link around today. It’s a long document with anti-racism resources geared toward white people who want to effectively help their Black neighbors in the fight against white supremacy.

Note: I did NOT compile these resources, I am simply sharing them.
