“Cali or Lily?”Sarah peered over from the oven after she placed a cake on the rack inside.“I doubt either of them would be looking at you funny for no reason though, they both love you.”She turned around then, deciding to lean against the counter with a soft smile,“Maybe you smell like fish, Aurelio.”

Sarah giggled, face flush as she shifted on her seat. This obviously was something that she wasn’t used to doing. Mostly because she never did it before. Though she felt warm and fuzzy, it wasn’t the warmth she was used to when she was with Aurelio. His warmth was calming, protective, alluring even. The warmth she had now was nothing but blurry. It made her head spin, her mind not her own, her reflexes and actions uncontrollable, and she didn’t like it very much. She doesn’t remember how many drinks she has downed; she doesn’t even remember where she was. The one thing she did remember was who she was with, and she only giggled more when she thought of him, of his arm pulling her closer as her body tried to get up and dance, of the overwhelming love that suddenly came over her as she was encouraged to take another drink. She was absolutely giddy and she couldn’t help but to laugh as she tried to get up and was once again pulled back down by Aurelio, and so she shifted to turn towards him, her movements a bit sloppy, and her words slurred from the alcohol. “You know—yur rweally handshum—“Aurelio laughed, cutting her off with a hush dearest, a grin on his lips, and she wondered in her drunken haze how this man could be completely unaffected, even though in the back of her head she knew the answer to that question. At a sudden impulse, she had kissed him hard and Aurelio kissed back for a moment before breaking it off and laughing—and then she was laughing too and couldn’t stop. She was laughing and laughing, and then strong arms were lifting her up and she laughed harder, squirming in his arms to no avail. “I think it might be time to go home, Sarah, dearest.”The amusement was obvious is his voice as his partner struggled to free herself in his arms, though he wasn’t planning on letting go anytime soon, lest she hurt herself or run off in her drunken state. “Aur-relioooooooooooooooooo!!”Sarah’s voice came out as a slurred whine as she protested, a hiccup in between his name, and Aurelio could barely hold in his laughter.“Honestly Sarah, 8 ,for you, I could understand, but 5? That would barely get Lorey tipsy.”She laughed again, trying to roll in her partner’s arms, and the man smiled down at her. “Cute.”

Sarah smiled, kissing Lorena’s cheek as she was touched. “Thank you, Lorena, it means a lot coming from you.”

Sarah giggled as she was touched and kissed Aurelio in return with a soft smile on her face.“I love you too, Rel, don’t forget that.”

Sarah was worried. Worried enough to not be able to sleep. Sometimes it was better— though this was one of the worst while Aurelio had been gone so long. It just made her so antsy and restless. Though she didn’t know what to do about it, so she went to Alma, and she had calmly reassured her as she whined to the nephilym over missing him— pining and worrying over a demon who’s obviously going to come back."Why am I so worried though— I can’t sleep, I feel like something’s wrong, and I can’t do anything—”"Shh, it’s okay, he’s okay, you’re thinking too much— come here."The woman did as she was told quietly as she was drawn into Alma’s arms into a hug and she sighed and then they were sitting down and Alma’s voice soothed her as she sang. She didn’t quiet understand them— but the words enveloped her in calmness, reassurance, and she couldn’t help but to close her eyes.When she opened them next, however, it was morning, and Aurelio was relaxing next to her, stroking her hair, with a calm smile. She merely snuggled into him, thanking Ally in her mind, and fell back asleep as his arms wrapped around her.
