North-West Persia, circa 1890

the elaborate central medallion woven with madder threads, the connecting lozenges on cream ground with interlinked geometric motifs, deep indigo threads woven to the four inner corners, the attractive border on madder ground with some minor abrash, filled with indigo and light blue/green interlinking vines and spiralling tendrils
