I have a new zine available. It’s really cool. 200 copies only. Purchase here: https://lobotomia.storenvy.com/products/36444085-mediocridad-innata-4-by-abraham-diaz

Mediocridad Innata is Abraham Diaz’ self-published series, collecting his ‘commercial work’. The “clients” for this issue include LA-based design studio, Brain Dead, a cafe/bookstore in Mexico City, and Diaz’ own Lobotomia press.

Mixed printing processes and papers, including images rendered with Xerox, 4-color screen print, offset, and letterpress, this is a true feat of craftsmanship! Now available from Neoglyphic Media!

Thanks to the Seattle Art Book Fair, who invited us to create this installation to highlight our recent PoMo Pulp series of art zines for their inaugural fair! From the installation description:

Po-Mo Pulp is a series of zines published by Neoglyphic Media, which will be featured through an exhibition of conceptually-related original work, intended to expand the context for the publications. The visionary nature of the artists involved grinds against the subversive voice of the underground and begs for further exploration along the line of where low-brow or pulp media crosses over into fine art.
The exhibition will feature publications paired with original art and multimedia work on display from artists:
Amanda Vähämäki (Finland) Lale Westvind (Philadelphia, PA) Drew Miller (Albuquerque, NM) Leomi Sadler (London, England, UK) Marc Bell (Vancouver, BC, Canada) Matt Lock (Clifton, NJ) Stefan Gruber (Seattle, WA)

Copies of these zines are available from the Neoglyphic Media webstore!

Sum new noise from Spree n’ Meee. Come freak out with us!!!! 🧡🎶🧡

The new Fake Sick album, “gigantic hand”, is now available on bandcamp and probably some other places on the Internet.

From amidst this swirling morass of NFTs and the onslaught of clickbait headlines, Fake Sick has emerged with a record that cuts through the garbage, to both mourn and revel at the crumbling alter of Western civilization. Loud synth-laden drums and guitars collide with theatrical shrieking and woozy character voices in a maximalist nugget of an album that somehow stands with one foot in personal nostalgia and another in collective urgency.

Additionally, there was a visual album created by Joel Skavdahl during an artist residency at Lookout Arts Quarry, which is now available from the Neoglyphic Media webstore in a limited edition of 50 copies, produced on a Risograph GR-3770 with Teal, Burgundy, Marine Red, and Black spot color inks and four different papers.

Heaving Pulp, Beautiful Bodies, curated by Drew Miller, opens at Basement Projects in Santa Ana, CA on May 5th and runs through May 26th. The contributing artists list includes some really interesting folks. Opening Reception: May 5th; 6-10pm Drew had this to say in tease of the show:

“A group show based loosely on images of the body that become distorted, hyperbolized and re-envisioned through processes of drawing, sculpture, reproduction (in this case xerox) as well as images of bodies that have been recontextualized/mutated in media images.“
