Liza & Tate

"Wanna try it out?" That was her trying to branch out to her future family. A single awkward sentence. Wow. She rubbed her forehead, trying to think of a pokemon that could partake in the contest.

"I think I have two different pokemon on hand I could use. Drifter and Nastu both have sown interest in not fighting.." She mumbled, shoving her hands in her pockets. She hoped Liza would say yes now.

She wanted to see what the other could do. What she could do when partnered up with a pokemon. “You have any pokemon that you could use?” She asked softly. 

Liza nodded enthusiastically. "It'll be totally fun!" she squealed, practically floating she was so happy. Like it was miraculously gone, Liza tugged on Hannah, no longer inhibited by her worries.

"Who're Drifter and Natsu?" she asked, very interested. "I mean, I guess they're Pokemon, but what kinds?" Her face lit up. "Can I meet them? I'll bet my Pokemon want to meet yours too!"

There was a moment when Liza looked a little more focused, then her face lit up again. "I'm sure that any of my Pokemon would be awesome! But, I guess... Princess or Starla would be perfect for it." The Gothitelle and Gardevoir (respectively) were some of the young Gym Leader's more flashy Pokemon, and the more that Liza thought about it, the better a decision it seemed.

Hannah chuckled as she left her future husband behind in the pokecenter. He was just so accepting of it ,thank the gods. Now she was alone with Liza and stuck on the questions she asked.

What did she wanna do? Shopping? Where were shipping centers here in hoenn? She heard there was a contest hall somewhere but she bet it wasn't the same system as it was in Sinnoh.

She bit her lip while she thought harder. "Well... We could maybe find a beach and hang out there.... Or.. Maybe do a contest?" She asked softly, fiddling with her pokeballs. She had no clue why she was being all shy. Maybe because Liza could tell her brother not to marry her if Hannah even stepped one foot out of line.

It had been ages since Hannah stepped foot in a contest hall. Last time was almost 9 years ago, while she was studying ghost Pokemon.

The questions felt endless. As excited Liza was to get to spend an entire day with Hannah, she quickly discovered that she knew next to nothing about her. Did she like shopping? The Lilycove Shopping Mall wouldn't be a far walk. Or there were contests-

It was like Hannah read her mind. After suggesting the beach - which Liza had no problem with - she mentioned the contests.

"Well..." she trailed off, not knowing whether or not she should let herself sound as eager as she was. "I've never competed in one before." Then, suddenly not wanting to make it seem like she was brushing the other trainer off, she smiled. "But it could be fun, yeah?"

Why is this suddenly so hard? she wondered, frustrated with herself. It wasn't like Hannah was some big, bad Seviper. She was just another girl. The girl who would soon be her family. "I was thinking the same thing, though. Do you have any Pokemon that would be good for contests?"

Well, that was rather surprising. Maybe Tate was in a good mood, or maybe Brendan had spent more time around the boy than he thought, if Tate of all people had this comfort level with him. He didn’t think Yaye was that physical of a person. 

Still, it was a welcomed surprise, and Brendan hugged him back tightly. “Hey, Tate! I am doing much better, now that you are around. How about you? You seem happy today.”

"I'm doing well, and how are you?" Tate laughed a bit, his smile not faltering. If this was some sort of joke, Tate either was a great actor, or was completely overdoing it, but he certainly didn't give it away. "And I'm always this happy when I get to see you, you goof ball."

Hannah flushed heavily and buried her face into her pillow. “T-That mean… does he have mine?” She squeaked loudly before choking on a laugh. Or was it that I just wore his shirt to bed before… She flushed more as the thought crossed her mind. No it was the first… she hoped.  

Liza shrugged. "I dunno if he does or not. He's mysteriously absent this morning..." Her head tipped to the side at Hannah's reaction to the whole thing. "Sweetie, are you okay? Did something happen last night?" She pondered the thought. It would explain why Tate wasn't there. But then, he might have just gone to the gym early to train one of his new Pokemon.

Liza turned partially around and winked at Hannah knowingly. "That's okay," she laughed, lowering the shirt and adjusting it over her frame. What fortune that she and her future sister in law were so similar in stature! "I just figured that it makes Taters hotter than a Camerupt's hump, so I wanted to give it a shot."

A glance down told her why. "THIS IS HIS SHIRT?!"
