Amelia. Wouldn’t names have evolved this far into the future? Clara didn’t know much about history - which wasn’t the best quality for a time traveler - but she did know language. Very well in fact. Languages grew like living beings, ever changing, ever altering. Here they were, thousands and thousands of years in the future and she just happened to meet someone with an ancient name and an equally ancient magazine. The Doctor had once traveled with an Amelia, she knew, could it be the same woman? How many time traveling, Scottish Amelias could there be?

“I’m from Chiswick. London, Earth, 21st Century,” Clara said with the utmost honesty though hoping for some hint of propinquity. “Your accent, that’s Scottish, isn’t it?” Clara leaned over in the chair as far as she could, her tone hushed as in departing some great secret. “I’ve worked out who you are, who else could you be? Amelia Pond, you traveled with the Doctor. He told me. You’re not from Scotland, your from Leadworth. And one day the Doctor just dropped out of the sky and changer your life. I’m right, aren’t I?” So I’m not the first he’s brought here. Is there anywhere he’s not been?

Expression deflating, the redhead's entire body seemed to sag at Clara's declaration, if only because she'd vocalized her thoughts before Amy could. Talk about anticlimactic. Far from enough to have her scrunching back against her seat she leaned in, clinching her brows irritably at the smaller woman's eagerness and unmistakable use of the past tense. In all of her explanation however, Amy was unashamedly pleased that whatever the circumstances of their meeting, the Doctor had talked about her in decent enough length. Still unable to peel back the suspicion she started her response twice; distrusting by her nature she didn't want to divulge too much, but curiosity fought to have her on the edge of the seat.

Whether or not she'd already given herself away shouldn't have even been a question, and yet Amy still opted to lie. "Must be thinking of someone else. Pond's not exactly rare… In the universe." Though who could say? Clara didn't seem like a fool, it was probably best not to take her for one. "Tourists zip in and out all the time. Won't tell you how many people I've met calling themselves Doctors in the last day alone." Huffing indigently as if the thought alone stirred rage inside, She folded the magazine open in front of her face, leaning back. "Sorry I can't be more helpful."

And not five seconds passed before Amy was peering over the top of her magazine, as if she hadn't been obvious up until this point.

[ Ah, what a deadly combination… Jack and Amy. The Doctor shook              his head slightly, a smile on his lips despite the small bit of ire that              he felt. As Jack was no doubt just ready to flirt his way to some              small victory. As soon as he stepped off the concrete slab elevator,              he was drawn into a hug. Twelve still wasn’t the best with hugs.              Touch just seemed to be foreign to him. Jack stepped back after a              moment and looked the Doctor over before he accepted Amy’s hand,              giving it a quick shake. ]

❝It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Amelia.❞

                                        ❝Don’t.❞

                                                      ❝Oh. You’re still no fun, Doc.❞

[ Twelve rolled his eyes in response to Jack. Still                                  the same man. Time didn’t change him… ]

[ Side eyeing the Doctor Amy wore a smirk that suggested she were subject to witnessing his and Jack's banter-y exchanges regularly. The balls of her cheeks puffed up with her rising smile as she considered the type of man who could make the Time Lord switch on the stiffness while calling him a friend. Cardiff. The place certainly deserved more consideration. Amy could kick herself. ]

Foil any dastardly plots to destroy the planet or entire universe lately?

[ Only too obvious in waiting for a specific answer she blinked at Jack expectantly, tightening her smile. This wasn't a visit. They weren't very well going to sit down have a chat and drink tea while the TARDIS refueled. ]

       Working on any today?

[ Her eagerness was palpable, her mental age stuck somewhere between nineteen and twenty two. Amy wasn't rushing to die, simply piercing right into the thick of it.  If pinned and forced to sum up the absolute best experience of traveling with the Doctor it was undoubtedly in those moments they made a difference, actual heroes. Of a sort... Though asking for a mission to land at her feet. She never did that. There was a first time for everything... Still where the TARDIS blew danger seemed to be leading the way, Amy told herself she was speeding up the process. Then the terrible thought of having cabin fever, trapped in her own life, flitted across her thought stream.   It was then she knew she was thinking too much and ought to just keep her suggestions to herself. ]

[From the peaceful land, Ôjoden, the Qwuilleran speaks]

Ze sent out waves of static location, sensing the echoes of resistance against the young girl’s frame. Warm light radiated brilliant orange and yellow laughter almost as radiant as Amy’s hair

scratch that. It paled in comparison. “Your hair is strikingly beautiful. It reminds me of a song I once heard.” Qwuilleran grew dark and silent, as if closing hir eyes to recall the tune.

Waking from hir trance, ze shook off the memory and returned composure, “Yes, that I am, from a place so unlike your familiar home in so many ways.”

Sliding forward bit by subtle bit. Drawn to the glow, irises traced over each thread of orange and yellow. Amy was smiling herself, feeling positively coy at the compliment offered. Grinding the words of her request to hear the song lightly between her teeth, she glanced toward the floor, huffing out a soft laugh as shiny strands reflected the light as they fell past her nose. Looking up unblinking with a hand to cover her open mouthed smile her fingers were no longer curled. Her other hand stretched to touch and feel. Childlike in her curiosity she wanted all of her questions answered at once, while having the opportunity to unravel the mystery herself--at the same time. Retracting her hand an inch or so, fingers curled halfway inside of her palm, remembering her manners thanks to the adult within.

"May I?" There was no proper way to go about asking anyone if it was alright to be touched. Though in this case she hoped, it wouldn't have been the first time.

"Are you looking for the Doctor?" Where ever he was. It was far from implausible. Amy had been vocal enough about him in her younger days. "Where are you from then? Never know. Might've heard of it." She commented, pleased, eyebrows piqued excitedly. It wasn't exactly polite to ask another question before giving time to answer the first. So much for the adult within.

"I’ve got the present for Mum!" she called as she swung the door to the TARDIS open proudly and marched inside, holding it up. "It’s a necklace, I reckon she’ll —"

The words died in her mouth as she finally took a look at where she was and realized that, despite the outside and its size on the inside, this could not be the TARDIS and that was definitely not the Doctor. “…where am I?!”

Jumping at the sudden entrance Amy ended up tracing a line of bright red across her cheek. Fuming as she furiously wiped the lipstick she turned to the yellow haired woman with a narrowed suspicious gaze. In a second her eyes bugged, brows clinched in sympathy. Just like that she forgot the black dress clinging to her stocking clad thighs and waist. She was supposed to be passing as a nun, if only a very particular kind.

"My house." She answered. "In Leadworth." Light irises fell to the headpiece on the bed and in a second redness had crept its way into both of her cheeks. "Why are you here?" What she meant to say first was, "And who're you exactly?"

"Not your car I take it?" Sawyer asked raising an eyebrow in Amy’s direction at the mention of an Aunt. "My Aunt would kill me if I damaged her car." She mused aloud considering how Eva would react to the situation. "Ah, well ‘fraid mine got passed down but I’m sure you could find one somewhere." Sawyer smirked despite herself. "Well, I can offer you either. I have a phone, or I can give you a ride into town if you want?"

"She's an old sentimental thing." Giving the pale green hood a weak pat with her fingers she shrugged disinterested. The statement held for her Aunt as well as the puttering vehicle she was toting around.

Moistening her lower lip as eager eyes landed on the bike once more, Amy brushed the smaller woman's words off with a wave of a hand. "It's beautiful." Passed down or otherwise. "Definitely a ride into town. The long way please." She laughed sliding off toward the bike, daring to squeeze the handle and run her fingers along the fuel tank.

"Unfortunately not, I have heard from people who returned injured that a traitor has been in their ranks and that it has made the war far more difficult for our men… I fear that I will get no more letters from him." She admitted softly.

Tugging on the inside of her bottom lip with her two front teeth she glanced sideways toward the floor, and finally puffed her cheeks before saying. "Bet your husband's made of pretty thick stuff, would you settle for anything less?" With the sides of her mouth sagging she forced a weak flicker of a smile.  "Can't imagine the agony of waiting though..."

Smiling once more she studied the woman for a long moment. "Have a little more hope. If he's not sending letters, he's too busy winning battles."

Brows lifted as the ginger waltzed around the room, something she had probably done hundreds of times before. He kept talk about his old companions to himself. But she couldn’t help it, sometimes jealously got the best of her and before she knew it, Clara was reading his diary. She knew is wasn’t very polite, she only skimmed through the pages.. But there was so much about a fiery, ginger woman from Scotland, who had the name of a fairy tale, who was the first face the Doctor, her Doctor, saw.

Words filled the silent room, and Clara looked up. ❝ Just had to go on about you, saying he couldn’t just leave you like that. I mean, it was obvious, he missed you— misses you. ❞ She corrected.

To the Doctor, Clara was a mystery, an impossible puzzle which he himself found out.. who knows, he’ll probably just not bother to come pick her up one Wednesday, go back to his cloud in Victorian London.. Was it a cloud? The memories of her echoes were tangled in her head, and were always hard to separate one from another.

But Amy? She was his light at the end of the tunnel, the one he would always run to save, the one the Doctor would probably pick over an English teacher who can’t make an actual, proper souffle. And that broke her heart, thinking about it that way, but it was probably true.

A sigh left her lips. Brown eyes fixated onto green ones as a question came to mind. ❝ Are you going to stay, then? He’ll probably want you to, you know. ❞

As much as it hurt to say those words, she meant them. The Doctor seemed much more happy with the woman, then Clara. And the second coming back to her was mentioned, a smile crept onto his lips. But she made him happy, and if she did that, Clara would be more than happy with her staying.

A quiet hum of laughter in response and the ginger relaxed on the spot, arms going slightly limp in their lock across her chest. She considered Clara curiously, pupils widening with an undeniable gleam of pleasure reflected in hazel irises.  The Amy Pond from a near decade ago was a caged thing quietly trying to tear its way to the surface; there was a rising urge to answer affirmatively and bulldoze right over the brunette to reclaim her position as his partner and confidant.  Another humorless laugh emitted at the thought, Amelia Williams couldn't remember the last time she'd felt so damn old. Almost eager to stir the pot and affirm her position in the Doctor's heart she'd started off on a very childish jealous-like foot. And it was Clara's body language and speech, a reflection of her own, and the question posed that drove the point home. The question was one she had long since answered for herself. For all the fleeting and longer moments she thought the Doctor might actually return to her and Rory, she told herself the same thing and gave Clara the same answer.

"No. You can relax."

As for whether or not that Raggedy Man would want her to? It didn't matter. Rory wouldn't be convinced nor could she truly convince herself despite having lived through the adventure already. Three was a crowd (she and her husband counted as one), putting Clara in a position she would have turned her own nose up at long ago was hardly fair.  Maybe she didn't know the small woman, but she liked her enough to avoid being so selfish and invasive.  Since the Doctor couldn't very well see or even live through the big picture, and Amy wouldn't settle for anything less than the three of them growing old together, settling was also basically a non option.

Besides she was more than happy in her resolve, even while having to remind herself of the fact. Amy had been happy for quite some time now.

"I miss it, god I miss it." All the time. "But I can't really take up that life again." Sighing soundlessly with a tiny smile she leaned into a railing letting pale arms fall to her side. "You think you'll never leave… But then, it's more like how could you hope to keep up..?" Wincing inwardly she shrugged to pass the moment. "It's difficult.." She forced the word.   "For someone like me to admit it's too much." But there it was, what she thought she should say, albeit not the absolute and total truth. Here was Amy, being an adult and doing what she thought to be the right thing lest she morph into her Aunt Sharon.

"Rory and I are adopting." A single umbrella statement which encompassed everything she wanted to say, and a weak one to boot, it was all she'd been able to think about until the Doctor came knocking. Amy had a feeling that even in five words Clara would understand most of what she was unable to communicate verbally. "A baby boy, we're naming him Anthony. Anthony Brian Williams. I expect Rory's told him all about it by now."

Andrea was just glad that the other hadn’t tried to refuse her help completely. It was more the fact that she didn’t want the others death on her hands if she was to go out there alone, which she knew had a higher possibility of happening than the blonde wanted to admit. Whether it be by the hands of other people or the undead corpses roaming the earth. Either way, Andrea was just glad that it wasn’t going to happen, not on her watch anyway.

At the others words about how this ‘ship’ had been taken, the blonde was dubious. “You know, there isn’t many cars or trucks or people for that matter, around these days, are you sure it could have been that, that took what you’re looking for?” Andrea asked, resting a hand on her hip as she spoke. She knew that there was no stopping the other from what she wanted to do and her loyalty to whomever she was trying to find was remarkable, really it was. She just hoped that it didn’t get her killed in the process. Which, with the others determination and stubbornness, the blonde could see happening, especially if it were other people that they were facing here.

"I just hope whoever it is that you’re searching for it worth it" Andrea muttered as the other noticed the tyre tracks, it wasn’t much, but it was something and that’s what she knew the other was going to go on. "Following the tracks it is, then?" she asked, mentally shaking some of her thoughts away before she set off after the other, keeping an eye on the surrounding areas as she followed after Amy. She really did hope that she found who and what she was looking for, she really did.

"I'm no expert but these are pretty distinguishable."

Swelling with hope at Andrea's words and her own conclusions Amy continued eagerly down the tracks, stoping after a few steps to assess the path ahead. With almost no vehicles to speak of fuel would have been an even rarer thing. Who'd waste it for a blue box smack dab in the middle of nowhere? Someone nearby, she decided. Not being able to break inside was reason enough to spark the curiosity of most anyone, the seemingly low risk factor was just added bonus. Just how hard would they try to get inside?

"Oh, Andrea, he's more than worth it." How to sum up the Doctor in a few words?  "He's the one." Her tone wasn't suggesting he was her one, but simply the one. Far be it from Amy Pond to put anyone on a pedestal, yet here she was smiling weakly through her corny response. Given the right ear she could yammer on about her best friend and their adventures endlessly all the while glossing over the hiccups.

Amy wasn't even sure if she should waste the breath expressing her concerns. That the tracks actually had nothing to do with the TARDIS. Wasn't there always that gnawing, at least, prick of doubt that came with age? No matter how many times Amy reminded herself that in the post apocalyptic hell they'd landed in the freshly painted phone box would shine like a diamond amidst the dull brown and greens of the surrounding vegetation.  Oh, definitely. Besides that was only the first hurdle of uneasy unsureness to overcome.  The companion was hopeful about the path for all of a moment before the actual chances of retrieving the TARDIS and saving the Doctor came to full focus. One truck and they were already outnumbered. Teeth clenched tightly, she battled the desire to give in and buckle under the enormous weight of dread that had been hoisted onto her shoulders.

Slowing their pace she forced her gaze to the Andrea's, lips parted slightly expression blank as she could make it attempting to hide the panic. What was the use if not to try convince herself everything would work out as it always had and forever would. Happily, or damn near close enough.

Amy found the task of distracting herself however impossible alone, and that was why she'd slowed.

"You haven't been on your own this whole time… What about the people you were with?" Difficult to skirt around the question it came out, softly, but bluntly. The worst she could get was a non response or none of your business. She could take up the entire day with the questions she had for Andrea, and they had at least ten minutes of walking ahead of them.

"You must be looking for them..." Guilt was harder to mask and rolled off her tongue easier than the words she spoke. Attempting to give her hope, in that maybe whoever took the TARDIS were the same people she'd lost, would be an insult to the woman who'd rescued her. So she waited for an answer, turning her eyes ahead to the path of tire tracks they followed.

She had the truth of it. The Doctor owed him nothing, most certainly not his help, yet Jast had to believe. Believe and hope that the Gallifreyan would seek to free the human whom he had taken as a host, or perhaps even pity the Dalek himself- though the latter was more than unlikely. And even if the Doctor did decide to offer help, Jast had his doubts about how much could be done. His true form had died with Thay and Sec, and he was not entirely sure if his consciousness would survive any further transference.

Daleks did not plead… and certainly not for their lives; but, he supposed, it was do or die. And knowing that, he at least had to try and convince this woman to bring him to the Doctor.

image

“I believe he will help because that is what I have to believe. There are none of my kind left to save me, and I cannot save myself- therefor, the only option that remains to me is to place my hope in another.” It all sounded stupid, and weak. He didn’t even know if she would accept what he was saying- not that there was any particular reason that she wouldn’t, for the words were truthful enough. Of course, his previous promise of allowing the Doctor to live was not entirely truthful, but she did not need to know that.

“Think of it this way. I will be at his mercy, should the Doctor choose to help. For all I know, he will give me what I ask and then kill me while I am at my most vulnerable state- that is the reality of it.” Jast paused then, overcome with disgust at what he was saying. No true Dalek would ever say such words, not even to save their own lives, and that thought brought him to wonder if ‘Dalek’ was truly what he remained to be. Shifting uneasily in his place, he forced himself to swallow, and then looked at her with blue eyes clouded with conflict. “Stop making me say these things. They are… not right. They are not words that my kind should speak. Just use whatever sort of empathy or righteousness that you humans have, and bring me to the Doctor.”

Swelling from the piling responses and questions Amy waited patiently enough for Jast to say everything he could to try and convince her to help.

In the end his words only tickled her interest and heightened her amusement. A permanent and subtle smile settled onto her pink mouth. At one point she thought he might choke on the words he forced out, not to mention the very nature of the being he claimed to be contradicted most of what he said, at least to her understanding of a Dalek. It was very amusing, see? Less curious than unsettling was his explanation for that uncharacteristic behavior.  But no stranger to near death situations it wasn't difficult to pull a confident, even smug, expression for the human Dalek who'd obliterated whatever plans she had for the day.

"Few things." Arms crossed, long legs were firmly planted and words passed effortlessly through her lips--every syllable Amy had pent up during his speech delivered with the utmost clarity, slow and deliberate without allowing Jast to get a word in edgewise.

image

"First, I can't make you do anything. You're here 'cause you want to be." Or he had to be. Amy saw little difference. "Second, the Doctor would't kill ya at your most vulnerable--" Pausing for a moment she gave him a lip curled once over. "You're sure we're talking about the same one here? Long nose?  Sharp chin?  Suspenders?  Bow ties--bleh."  Moving on from her own taste…  "Not exactly a murderer is he?" He'd help Jast because he'd have to help the human. That was the reality of it. The Dalek knew as much. They weren't exactly stupid. "Lastly, why don't you just off yourself? Crawl out of this guy and be done with it?" Empathetic enough for him? Or infuriatingly frustrating?

Here we are again, another milestone and I’ve been here barely four months. So, I want to first say thank you to anyone and everyone who’s stuck with me. I started this blog with very little hope it’d get off of the ground and well, I was proven wrong, and I’m glad I was. There are so many people I’ve spoken to on here that have become very near and dear friends to me.

So I want to begin by saying if you’re not in this initial list and you’re somewhere below it’s not that I like you any less, It’s more so I don’t know what to say about you.

S N O W F L A K E S ;;

These are people who rule my Dashboard and I will always stalk read their threads whenever they’re RPing with someone because wow their writing is amazing. Or these are the people who really shine above the rest when it comes to our OOC interactions.

  • idlegossipandarchaeology I have so much to say about you. First off you’re a wonderful friend, one of the best people I have ever come to know and I’ll never regret once talking to you. I love you dearly, Lin. P.S. Your River is so rad, I can’t even begin to tell you how rad it is.
  • miss-pond - Hello Queen Cally, you amazing lady you. Seriously, so guys the reason Cally here is a special snowflake is pretty obvious once you see her blog. This is easily one of the greatest Rivers I’ve seen on the site. And I’m super lucky to have this amazing lady as a friend, and someone I can bug talk to every day, Her verses, and pretty much everything are awesome and her portrayal of River is beautiful. Go check her out, not only is her blog rad but she’s a super sweet mun.

Well, for starters this mun is fabulous from the little bit we’ve talked and they’re superbly talented writer. Not to mention I adore the faceclaim they chose for her. So, anyway, moving on, when it comes to the topic of writing, I wonder if this mun is a professional author or something because talent is staring me in the face via tumblr posts. I unabashedly stalk read their threads.
  • donna-nobis-pacem - Hello, this is my Donna. So, first thing is first I adore Donna’s character more than anyone ever will know. This Donna was the first Donna I followed and when I say I will follow her into the depths of hell and back I will. Her writing, and characterization is absolutely wonderful. She understands Donna’s character and ugh, I could go on forever about how amazing this Donna is. The Mun is a giant sweetheart and oh my god she’s just wonderful. I love talking to her and our conversations are always hilarious.
  • nineandrunning - Bex! Bex was one of the very first people I ever met on tumblr and I will never regret knowing this amazing gal. She runs three blogs, of which I linked this one because it’s the one I’ve always considered her main. ( theshadowofgallifrey , notthetindog ) are her other ones. So, yeah I can’t even profess how hilarious and amazing this gal is and how glad I am to know her. The Characters she plays are wonderful and if you don’t follow her you are missing out on amazing things on your dashboard.
