Exuberant Imperfection

They say that these are not the best of times, but they're the only times I've ever known.

INT: People always think that Iron Man looks like a total playboy, but I think he’s the most loyal man.

RDJ: Here’s what’s so funny. In the first movie he’s a playboy. Every movie after that, he pretty much has a girlfriend. Maybe she’s mad at him, but he doesn’t go, you know what I mean. So I think it’s interesting. Rather than–there’s been other heroes that are a playboy and they’re always a playboy. Tony Stark started off as a playboy, whatever that means, and then very quickly changed because of his life-threatening situation. He had a spiritual awakening.

he’s beauty he’s grace he’ll tAKE A FUCKING SPOON TO UR FACE

YES !!! NEVER EVER FORGET that Branch was prepared to fight Bridget, a creature … what 100x his size??! - with a spoon !!!

What a brave boy.

it gets even better when you consider how branch is absolutely terrified of the bergens ((with good reason ofc)) to the point where he refuses to do anything that risks attracting them, only to fling himself into the line of fire to take her focus off the others. ((and we all know, as the audience, that bridget probably could never bring herself to ever lay a hand on a troll, but branch does not))

Branch is not only brave, but he cares so much for fellow Trolls. Despite how curmudgeon he acted and how often he expressed a supposed indifference or distaste, he was still known for frequent appearances where he’d warn the others of potential danger. He might have implied that he didn’t care if the other Trolls got attacked whilst he was safe in his bunker, but he wouldn’t have troubled at all if that were actually true.

Then, willingly and without hesistance, he put himself between other Trolls and their biggest predator in an attempt to protect them. Branch, whose greatest fear is the Bergens, a Troll who built an entire life around RUNNING FROM them!! Yet there he was, ready to lunge forward and attack a Bergen head on, his life on the line. A good, good boy.

If a kid that’s bi is watching TV and doesn’t really see anyone that identifies as bi or queer that is in a happy, functioning relationship, that has a good job, that lives past a 3-episode guest star arc — or maybe the bi character is hypersexualized or possibly a villain, [which] happens a lot — what does that mean for a 12, 13-year-old watching television and consuming media, and thinking, ‘Well who am I then? I guess I’m not this thing because I’m not a villain, I don’t want to be hypersexualized, I want what everybody wants, to live happy and well.

Actually, this makes me really uncomfortable. You could place this exact transcription over a male and a female and it’s clear sexual harrassment. Even though they are both men, this is still coersion to undress, especially under the pressure of an actor-director power dynamic. Men in the entertainment industry shouldn’t feel pressured to undress any more than women should.
