A Race Against Time (Part 2)

It wasn’t the response I had hoped for, but I truly needed to go. After mumbling a shy thank you, I ran to his car, hopped on the front seat and drove off.

I had to admit that I was quite lucky in my bad luck. Since my car hadn’t let me down too far away from the offices of The Edifice, it took me less than ten minutes to get there, find the parking that was inside of the building, realize, completely gutted, that I had forgotten all of my material inside my car which was now with Harry, remember that I didn’t have time to get bothered about it, find the lift, reach the ninth floor and run to the front desk. The last thing I perceived, before bobbing my head down to catch my breath, was a gigantic clock behind the lady behind her computer, confirming that I had made it just in time. It was like it had been waiting for me.

The girl at the front desk was polite enough to let me regain my senses at my own pace. My head was buzzing, my body was knackered but fully awake at the same time because of tremendous amount of coffee I had put into my system, and I was out of breath.

I took one last, deep breath before raising my head to the girl, who didn’t seem that much older than me.

“Hi,” I said in a petty smile. “Sorry. My name’s Rachel Brown, I’m the new intern.”

A Race Against Time (Part 1)

“Niall, I’m freaking out!”

“Hello?” Niall croaked from the other end of the wire.

“Yes, hi, it’s me, I’m distressed.”

There was a moment of silence where I could’ve sworn I heard my friend turn in his sheets. I feared he’d fallen back asleep, but just when I was about to call his name, he finally spoke, his tone more confused than ever.

“…who is this?” he asked in a sleepy tone.

“It’s Rae. Niall you need to wake up. I’m facing an existential crisis over here!”

“Rae?” he repeated and it took me everything not to sigh deeply.

“Rachel Brown. Five foot two. Blonde hair, green eyes. Your neighbor. Your best friend.”

“Alright, alright, stop. What’s wrong? What time is it?”

“Six in the morning.”

This is a message from the dead

Hi!!!!

First of all, I’d like to apologize for going mia those past few weeks, but a lot of stuff happened. Let me explain:

Firstly, my laptop died in my arms. I don’t know whY but I always get such bad luck with computers the same thing happened to me last year when I had another laptop, and I broke the screen of the one before that and... yeah i’m just a mess with computers. Surprisingly my laptop started working again last week but I will need to buy a new one.......again.

Secondly, and just thinking about it makes me very emotional, I lost my usb flash drive. It had everything on it. EVERYTHING. I lost a major school project that I had to redo from scratch (although the teacher accepted to give me a week extra to finish it bless his heart), and I also had my fic on it :((((( I do have a copy on my computer but I’d started to write chapter 17 on it and lost the flash drive before I was able to transfer my progression onto my computer. We’re talking about 2000 words. Lost. Gone. Forever. I feel like crying just thinking about it.

And yeah, lastly I’ve just been so stressed with school and work in general and I just had no time/motivation/inspiration to write.

My semester is almost over so I promise I WILL get back to it as soon as I got time but I can’t really tell you when the next update is coming... It could be in two days like it could be in two weeks.

I will keep you guys updated.

New Year, new...you?

“Hurry Rae, we’re gonna be late!”

I put my mascara down and a stressed sigh escaped from my lips. “I’m coming!” I yelled back.

I stood from my seat in front of my dressing table, did a few last checkups on my hair and grabbed my purse on my bed. I rushed to the living room, where Niall was sat. Looking absolutely distressed, he kept bouncing his leg. He stopped when he saw me.
