This strange contraption is a tide sensor. The grey strip you see hanging down beside the wheel measures the depth of the water. It's connected to a small speaker inside the tin box that beeps as the water level rises; that's how we followed the tide.
The setting sun marks the start of Human Tide.
"parading the world’s largest urinal through the streets in tribute to Duchamp’s most famous work. The 15ft-long urinal is an homage to Duchamp’s Fountain, a loo on its side that marked the beginning of the idea that an object can be considered a work of art merely because the artist says so."
More action from Herne Bay for "I am not dead"

Walking into the tide as the last of the sun sets.
The scaffolding goes up.
