Seeing as how broken Stoick was after Valka’s “death” I don’t think it’s something he and others spoke very openly about, so I’d like to think that Hiccup’s friends really only had really vague knowledge of what actually happened to his mom.

Like, she died when Hiccup was a baby and the chief blames himself, they know nothing more than that.

So just imagine on day, Hiccup, who in his teenage years became comfortable talking about the subject, goes: “yeah and my mom was eaten by dragons”

And the gang just collectively goes

No cuz my brain went: “haha it’s like that ep in rtte blindsided but she uses the lighting as a strength,” and then “oh shit she looks like Thor” and then finally “no but her power should reflect stormflys hottest fire or whatever”

In short, hehe spirit Astrid (I’m drawing the rest of the gang with their powers closer to their dragons?? Yeah)

today I learned that 1st httyd book was firstly published 20 years ago

so I wanted to make something to express my gratitude and appreciation to the author of the story and everything connected with it

httyd inspires me so much and my love for it only grows from day to day

I'm really happy to be part of the Fandom and have an opportunity to explore this magnificent dragon world

Everyday I grieve the fact that they did not add that one concept design of Hiccup with a giant book. So I’m coming with some art practice AND justice. Have a wip.
