His words were sweet as it got coming from him. She belonged to him, but even in ownership came protection, and if he was willing to brave all but death himself to keep her from harm, then who was she to really argue with him. His touches, though light and gentle, were like fire on her skin, warm but slightly uncomfortable. She shifted, deciding that a distraction was better than just allowing him to do what he wished. She just hoped that it wouldn’t backfire as much as it might have a while before.

She brushed his hand away, placing a small kiss on his cheek, lips lingering just long enough to be called teasing, before she let her arms fall back to her sides, one wrapping around her middle instead of following the direction it was given. “Thank you for caring, Cerberus. Even if it is just that I am not harmed, it means a fair amount to me.”

Teasing -- and wasn't that a laugh, when faced with the master of such treatment; though he had enough experience to know just what she was doing, or what she thought she was doing, and he paused, halting to enjoy the treatment before lips split into a wide, wolfish grin. Eyes closed, and he shook his head minutely before leaning back in the slightest, meeting her eyes once more.

❝--What can I say? I'm just a big ol' softie.❞

Sarcasm dripped from his mouth, though the remnants of a grin still remained somewhere in those shadowed eyes; if this was the extent of her fight, his victory would likely come sooner than anticipated. With luck, and a fair amount of calculated skill, she would succumb to him soon enough.

He really did like playing with her, and it was frustrating. The hand on her back had been innocent enough, and she put up with him moving it her her waist. She wasn’t stupid enough to cause a stir in public, and though either way he was somewhat pleased, making a scene would only serve to exacerbate things. With her luck, someone would come around and decide to separate the two of them, and figuring out what Cerberus would do in that situation was not high on her list.

But regardless of whatever she did or didn’t want to see, she couldn’t lie that she enjoyed being the center of attention for once. Having someone who, for most purposes, was like a boyfriend, was strange, but not over all unwanted. Now if only she could get him to treat her like an equal, and not a possession.

"Oh joy. Good to know that I am safe for a little while longer. Must I state my terms again?"

Cute -- the way she tried to pretend she wasn't enjoying herself. Women were easy to read; most of them wanted the same thing, even if they never admitted it, even to themselves. They were naturally competitive beings, wanting to be held above the rest in all categories: beauty, goodness, and of course the attention they received for such virtue.

It was a simple task to make her feel so; he barely had to try, for after all such stares were only natural. She was a beautiful woman, and surely had he not been there she would have been admired just so, though she wouldn't have noticed had he not pointed it out to her. And now, behind those stares burned a new type of jealousy -- not just the desire to have such beauty for themselves, but to have such a man to themselves as well. Stunning, and with a rather stunning man at her side.

Oh yes -- she had to be veritably drunk on that feeling.

❝No -- I get it. Down boy, heel, and all that.❞ Glancing about, he surveyed the area once more, smile faltering as he raised a brow. ❝So, what are we looking for?❞
