"R-Really…?" Tsumiki asked, looking up from her hands and at Hinata. She had sworn Saionji chose to pick on her because of the very same reasons she had been bullied her entire life by anyone else. She supposed some of those reasons were the same, like the fact she was weak and gave herself up easily, but she didn’t know anything about Saionji’s home life.

"I… I didn’t know th-that…"

"Yeah...I'm not supposed to tell anyone because, in her words, 'If you do, I'll poison your food with yellow gummies and stop on your corpse!'." Hinata shrugged. "But, it's just our little secret...She doesn't need to know you know." The brunette gave a small smile in response, patting Mikan's back lightly. "If she's still bullying you, I could try talking to her and seeing if I can get her to lay off."

Receiving the cellular device from the boy, eyes stared directly at the photo. It looked … ‘fun’? The kind of fun you wouldn’t really experience in a game. She wondered what it was like hanging out with them. She wouldn’t feel lonely all the time — and ..— well, that was in the past, wasn’t it? Even though her memories are long gone, it was hard to let go of it. Maybe it was the need of knowing that’s been holding her down.
image
"I see." She smiled as she handed the phone back to the boy. "You guys look like you’re a fun bunch.—- - Ah. How about we hold a ‘Welcome home’ party? Just like the one in the island except no murder will happen. That’d be fun, right? And that way.. I could get to know everyone without having to ask you anymore —Not that I didn’t want to ask you. I just thought it would be a bother if I keep doing it repeatedly.."

Hinata watched her reaction to the pictures, seeing that she seemed longing for that. He didn't blame her honestly, to be told and shown all these great things about people and not being able to do that must've been torture for her. He took the phone back and nodded his head, listening to her idea and humming to himself. It was either going to be a great success for everyone, or the worst thing that could happen to them.

"It could work...I mean, I don't know if Twogami and Teruteru would come along considering their track-record for parties, but I'll try to convince them...In case I forgot to mention, Togami is the skinny guy and Twogami is the...rounder one. We don't know who he really is, and he refuses to tell us so we just go along with it." He shrugged. "Weirder things have happened after all...But yeah, we could try to hold a party."

"And don't worry, Chiaki; You're not being annoying."

~❁~ She continued to tug at his shirt more until she managed to pop off all the buttons, still keeping their lips pressed but started to release soft groans from her throat. Not sure why she was doing this exactly, she didn’t really want to question it, she just allowed her body to do as it wanted, and if Hinata wanted to push her away, he was more then welcomed to tell her to stop. Seeing that the male was not doing so, her nails softly went to his now bare chest, giving it gentle scratches upward to his shoulders, then scratching down those strong arms under the fabric of his shirt, pushing it off slightly from his shoulders now.

He wanted to ask her what exactly she was doing, but at the same time he was sure he had a vague idea of the situation. He let out a few small noises of his own into the kiss, finally feeling the last button of his shirt be ripped off as though he was about to be murdered...Alright, maybe a little too far on that front. His exposed chest felt a slight breeze, and he let out a surprised noises as he felt Akane's nails slowly examining his torso. The real kicker was when she lightly scratched at his shoulders, causing him to let out a gentle moan through the kiss. He helped to pull the rest of his shirt off, deciding to go along with the situation.

She walked beside him, quietly, hands behind her back as she indulged in the familiar sound of his voice and the information he’s giving to her. Through the length of his explanation, she couldn’t help but smile on how his tone changes depending on what person he was talking about. He was so sincere about it— she couldn’t help but feel bad that her memories had been taken away. [it’s not your fault..]
As his explanation had ended and his question rose, she stopped, tapping her lips as she thought about another question to ask.
image
"How about the time we spent together then? What were they like?"

"That's a little...harder to explain. The time we spent together was kinda...all over the place. People were dropping dead seemingly everyday, so I didn't really keep track of all that." He explained, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. "It's been a while since I've seen any of them, too...They were mostly good people though, just a few problems every so often." He shrugged a little, biting his lip a little as he thought.

Image

He pulled out his phone and flicked through a few photos, remember there were still some left over from the school days. "Here, I have these to prove my point a little more." He explained, handing her the phone.

~❁~ Before she could question what he was doing she was pulled on top of the male now, suddenly feeling the contact of his tongue licking her lips, causing her to softly let out a please groan, her lips slowly parting before giving a rather passionate kiss from the brunette. She wanted to pull away, question 'what the hell he was doing? why did he do that for?' but the longer his kiss lingered, she understood what he was trying to show her. It wasn’t much, nothing but a kiss, but when his arms pulled her close, wanting her to stay near, she finally returned the kiss, acknowledging that he did in fact want her around, he didn’t want to toss her aside, like everyone had in the past. She soon found herself pressing her hands against his chest, caressing the toned muscles she felt under the fabric of his shirt, fingertips gripping onto it tightly as she began to pull it apart, already popping off the first two buttons. Not sure why she was doing this, she simply allowed her instincts to take over.

As Akane began to finally return the kiss, he let out a mental sigh of relief. It was telling that she was on board with the kiss, and that he wasn't doing anything he wasn't meant to be doing. Hinata relaxed into the kiss, pulling her closer to him and deeper into the kiss with a smile on his face. It had been quite a trip to get to the point he was at, but at the same time he was glad it had all happened. The sound of tearing fabric was a little more than worrying to him however, and his eyes darted down to his chest to see what exactly was happening, to be greeted with Akane's hands tearing his shirt open. Okay, this was happening now.

She stood up, stretching a bit as she had been sitting on that bench. What time was it. anyway? She swore she sat on that bench when it was 9 a.m and now.. it’s 12? That’s strange. She also felt a slight pain on her bottom but that’s probably from sitting too much.
"That’s a good idea."
The girl was quite thankful that the he had decided to bring the topic up and not her. How insensitive and selfish of her would it be if she asked about it?

"… .. Can you talk to me about our classmates first? What are they like?"
She took a brief moment to look at the boy and his features— downloading his image into her memory bank. She also put a small mark on his file name to indicate that he was someone of importance. Yawning, she rubbed her eyes then held on the straps of her bags.
"Should we go?"

Hinata stretched his body out, giving a small yawn of his own considering how much he had relaxed on the beachside there. Now wasn't the time to be sleepy, he had no excuse. He dusted himself off a little, getting all the sand off of his pants before looking back up to her and nodding.

"Yeah, let's get going." He smiled, slipping his hands back into his pockets as he began to walk, looking behind him to make sure she was following. "So, for our classmates...Well, you know the psychopath chosen to call itself 'Komaeda' already, so I won't bother with him..." He sighed, still hating to even talk about him. "As for the others..."

Hinata began to talk about each and every one of the others that were involved in their class, explaining what others though of her and certain relationships for some people; and who she should be alert around and who she could relax with. "That about covers it really." He chuckled, not really knowing where to take the conversation from here.

Image

"Anything else you wanna talk about?" He smiled, turning to her.

~❁~ She still couldn’t help but hold this feeling of worry even as he spoke, saying he was alright. She could see it in his expression he was upset over the events that had happened to Nanami. ’…should’ve just kept m’ mouth shut…I only made ‘im feel like crap…’nd e’en after he cheered m’ up..I go ‘nd do a stupid thing like that…’ “Listen um…I’m really sorry again fer what I said…I shouldn’t ha’e ‘nd…i…it’s gettin’ late, I’ll just be goin’ back now..” she began to stand up as she spoke, just kinda feeling like crap herself, wanting to leave now and give him space. If he didn’t’ wish to speak to her again, she would understand. It wouldn’t be the first time she was promised by someone they would stay only to watch them leave her life forever.

Hinata was about to tell her once again that everything was fine, but suddenly she started talking. "N-No, Akane wait..." He tried to say, but she was already going up to leave. He couldn't think of anything else he could really do, so simply went with his instinct. He quickly leaned forward and grabbed her arm, pulling her back so that they were laying on the bed, Akane on top of him. Hinata then leaned up to lock lips with her again; it wasn't exactly the greatest plan, but it was a way to both show off his feelings, and get her to stay. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, closing his eyes and hoping she'd get the point and not try to pull away again. It was big risk, but that was what he did best, right?

"I don’t mind.." She replied softly, looking at the boy with such a small smile. "I’m fine with whatever you call me, really."
Letting the silence fill between them, all she could hear was her composed breathing. She was a bit curious on what he was feeling right now. Losing a friend—no, from what he had said, a best friend was an unimaginable thing for her to go through. She had to give him some credit that he was handling it quite well— Or well, it looks like he is.
image
"Should we do something together?"
She doesn’t actually know what to do— maybe they could go for a walk together? Or go to an arcade? Either way, the gamer decided that it was best to leave all the melancholic feeling behind and start over anew,

"Alright...Chiaki it is." He nodded, the small smile she gave being a welcoming sight. It had been far too long since he'd been able to see Nanami this happy, and from the way things were going it was become fairly clear that he was still needing to get used to all this again.

It had been hard to lose her in the first place, and now that she was back without any memory, it was hard to tell which was harder to deal with. Then again...at least she was back, right?

image

"I guess...We could go for a walk and I could explain things to you if you wanted..." He suggeted, deciding that they'd do that and then do something he knew Nanami would enjoy: An arcade.

Avatar
The way he talked about Komaeda.. interested her. The boy had mentioned before that Hinata disliked him—but from his tone, dislike wasn’t even a word to for his hate. “I don’t blame him, really. He must have done it for a reason. And it’s better that I got executed than you guys.. I am an artificial intelligence after all.”
—Artificial Intelligence was a word that she didn’t really like to use on herself. Though atleast this time was an exception.
"I guess we should.."
She took his hand and held it, the feeling seemed a bit nostalgic. She shook it gently, then slowly letting go. How close were they, exactly? The gamer felt a slight pain on her heart but decided to keep it to herself.
image
"Is it okay if I call you Hinata-kun?"
Nanami asked, a small smile on her face. Maybe this was one of the second chance that Big Brother had told her while rebooting her. A part of her wanted to ask him about their time together but that can wait.

"Oh, he did it for a reason alright. His reason was that he's an insane lunatic hell-bent on making everyone's lives as difficult as possible." Hinata once again rambled to himself about the luckster's problems and the hatred he held for him. "It's not better that you were the one who got executed; You may be an artificial intelligence but if you can get us to care about you like any other human, you may as well be human." He spoke, clearly feeling quite strongly about that subject.

It was a little awkward in the way she shook his hand, as though she was trying to remember something herself; that must've hurt. Once she dropped his hand he sat back down properly, feeling a small pain in his own heart as if it had just shattered like glass.

Image

"Y-Yeah...of course it is." He nodded, clearing his throat and sliding his hands into his pockets. "Should I just keep calling you Nanami, or would you prefer Chiaki?" Hinata asked, turning back to her with a pained and clearly trying too hard smile on his face.

Avatar
Her gaze slowly left him. As she listened to what he had said, a small smile has crept upon her lips. She wanted to say that she should thank Father for making her, but decided to keep it to herself. Then silence filled and it was almost suffocating for her.
"Komaeda-san told me that I sacrificed myself.. then you must be wondering why I’m still alive, right?" Telling him would be best. Atleast that way, he can’t be stuck in the past anymore.
"When I got corrupted because of that virus some of my data was unharmed. Big Brother then took that data and used it as a base to remake me. I think that’s why my appearance and speech patterns are almost the same as the one back in that island.. Of course Big Brother has some codes of me that backed it up." Taking a deep breath, she continued with her explanation.
image
"Some of my original data didn’t get destroyed though. Big Brother also took those and tried to fix them. But the virus was too strong and it had too many firewalls that he couldn’t properly reboot them. I think those are my memories. See, if I try to remember any, everything glitches then crashes. Some of the memories are fine, though— but all the people are covered with black and whatever you say becomes garbled. .. "
She looked at him again, wondering if he understood it or not.

It was his turn to listen, and in response simply closed his eyes and let the information roll over him; no visual or mental interruptions to annoy him. It was strange to hear her talking about the incident like this, and had to give it to her; if he had been in the same situation he probably would have gone crazy over memories you can't full recall...almost like his actual life...Oh.

"Komaeda told you? Of course he would, he's the reason you had to sacrifice yourself in the first place." Hinata grumbled, the anger in his voice bubbling up as soon as Komaeda's name was mentioned. "Komaeda killed himself, and someone needed to be executed...So, you chose yourself." He explained, assuming she didn't know that part.

The virus talk got to him, the painful memories rushing back to him in waves. He shook it off, giving a sigh and nodding his head. "I'm...I'm sorry to hear that, Nanami." He spoke, taking a deep breath and trying to think of what else he could say. "Well...I guess we should...start over." Hinata added, holding out his hand to hers as though it was their first meeting. "Hajime Hinata...Call me Hinata."

Image

He tried to not let it show, but this was hurting him inside. Sure, nothing big had really happened with her back in the simulation, but at the same time the friend he used to have, all the memories, all the moments...they were all gone.

Avatar

Noticing that he casually took a seat next to her, she moved away from him a bit. Even though he claimed that they knew each other once, he was still a stranger to her.

image

“We did? —Was I special to you?”

Her face now turned to face his, eyes examining his appearance. Spiked hair with one part standing up and eyes that looked melancholic and longing, there was something about him that felt a little.. familiar? No. That wasn’t the word for it. Perhaps it was.. — [home ? ]

"Then you must now that I was a program, right?"

Perhaps asking these kind of questions wasn’t best. After all, it might trigger some bad memories for him. But there were still so much she needed to know about her previous life and Alter Ego wasn’t giving her enough information.

"I...I guess you could say that..." Hinata replied, not wanting to give himself away too much yet. "I considered you my best friend at the least." As she moved away, it made him feel a little awkward; realizing that he was still stuck in the moments where she actually knew him.

He turned to her in response and examined her features. Still the same old Nanami he knew before, down to the little Galaga pin in her hair. Her eyes were dancing over him, probably trying to scan if he was any kind of threat to her or something. He couldn't help but crack a small smile, even if she didn't know who he was...it still felt good to know that she was safe.

Image

"Yeah...yeah, I know." Hinata nodded, biting down on his lip to stop a depressed sigh from escaping. "It came as a suprise to everyone; but we know...Quite an amazing program, at that."

"Huh?"
Her eyes looked up to see a boy that seemed to be the same age as her. He talks as if they had met before— Perhaps he was part of the mutual killings? That could be a reason why.
"….. I don’t know any Hinatas. Did you mistake me for someone else?"
Sliding her backpack off her shoulders, she tucked her console in with her other games. Taking a deep breath, she knew that she would have to do some explaining. —And that usually took long.
image
"But If you know who I am, then that must mean you’re part of the simulation. Did you just woke up from your comatose or where you part of the survivors?"

She had no idea who he was...hm. Honestly, he should've expected that things never worked out the way they were meant to for him, but he believed that everything would be fine and payed for it...again. "Uhh...No, you're Chiaki Nanami... SHSL Gamer." He replied, trying not to let the hurt show on his face.

"I'm Hajime Hinata...And yeah, I was one of the survivors...You were there when we getting out of the simulation..." Hinata sighed a little, taking a seat next to her. What a horrible situation this was. He reached around his pocket for some sort of identification, but came up with nothing. ElectroID's were part of the simulation it seemed.

"Well...we knew each other once."

The girl still engrossed at the console currently on her petite fingers, noticed a person’s presence but didn’t really acknowledge it since she was too fixated on her game. Her fingers swiftly tapped the buttons, creating combos and kills till the words ‘Victory’ appeared on her screen. She quickly looked up at the person that had entered the room a few minutes ago till going back to her game.

image

"Hello." The gamer said, loading a new game file. "Is there anything you want from me..?"

Well...this was more than a little surprising for the male. There she was, sitting and playing her game as if nothing bad had ever happened. "Nanami..." He smiled lightly, approaching her and kneeling down to see what she was playing. New game, never seen it. "I didn't expect to see you again, Nanami..." He greeted, waiting for a response but not receiving one...Alright, she was just engrossed.

Image

The greeting however, felt off. It was as if she had never met him. "Nanami, it's me...Hinata."

Her cheeks puffed out a bit as she attempted to find the right kind of retort to his come back, coming up rather empty handed.

"That’s what Hajime-chan thinks, and Ibuki would come up with a good comeback, but she can’t, so just imagine that Ibuki said something mind blowing that totally made sense!”

After a few more seconds, a giggle bubbled from the musicians lips, falling back onto the sand, not seeming to care too much about getting sand in her hair. "Worry not, Hajime-chan! Ibuki does know how to take a break sooooometimes, although not too often." There was more she could say and she could ramble on for days about herself, but she had to pause it all, attention falling onto what Hinata had said.

"If there’s something bugging Hajime-chan that much to where its buzzing and bugging and bumming around in your head, then Ibuki thinks it’s best to let it out and get it all clean in there in whichever way is best! Talking, running, playing music, screaming a bunch. There’s a bunch of things to help with that!"

Hinata grinned a little at her words, obeying her request and making a shocked expression. "Whoa! You got me there, Ibuki." After a few seconds he broke down in laughter at the strangness of the situation. Talking to Ibuki was almost like entering another world; even if you were depressed before, she seemed to open the gates to heaven and make you laugh either way.

In response he laid back on the sand, remebering that the key to hanging out with Ibuki was doing what she did. He would be more worried about getting sand in his hair, but his Ibuki-length hair was long gone at this point. "Well, at least you know that 24/7 is a pretty bad thing to do; 23/7 seems like it'd work for you, though." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders. The brunette closed his eyes for a moment, simply listening to what she had to say before speaking up again.

Image

"Yeah, that's why I was sitting here and thinking; that's really the best way I can get rid of things without you here. But, now that I have the scream-queen herself, I should be able to do a lot more." He chuckled, sighing with relief and feeling himself at least a little more relaxed than before.

~❁~ She seemed a bit calm down, the worse seemed to be over for now as she rested her palm on her cheek and her elbow on her knee while she sat next to him. What was she thinking anyways? She wasn’t too sure herself but she looked him over for a moment, a small chuckle escaping her lips. “well…for a first kiss, ya seemed t’ know what yer doin’…so I mean…if it were t’ e’er happen again…I wouldnt’ say no..” Typical honest Akane, she simply refused to lie even if it came to admitting such an embarrassing thing. “hm..but also…I could’ve sworn ya had a thing fer Nana-….shit, I’m sorry I didn’t mean t’….” 'Great job akane, ya probably upset him now..'

"Heh...maybe it's just second nature..." He joked, the awkward grin still on his face. "And...yeah, I wouldn't say no, either; you seemed like you knew what you were doing too." Hinata smiled, before it fell of his face again. That was one way to open old wounds that were just starting to heal over. He took a deep breath and bit down on his lip for a moment, shaking his head. "Nah, it's fine. That's all in the past, nothing to do about it now." He shrugged, trying to not let it bother him too much. Problem being that it had always been bothering him, and now that was coming to light now. "You're my focus now..." 'Shit, you're making everything worse for yourself and her.'

Upon him asking his question, Fukawa looked right at him for a moment before responding, “No, a-actually, you don’t.” Although her accusation was short-lived, she still didn’t trust this boy. “No, there were six, including m-me.” He seemed to know about her classmates, or at least the ones who survived that horrible place way back when. “Other, o-other class?” Fukawa questioned before hearing the next part. “Wait, you were the ones t-to start the despair in the world? I kn-knew it!” Now she was back to square one, thinking he began the despair in the world like she previously had.

"Yeah, I told you that...That's why we're here. That despair crap's all over, and we're back to being the depressed and barely-abled students we always were. The Future Foundation put us here to monitor our behavior and rehabilitation...The reason there's five of us left, is the same reason there's only six of you left." He explained, realizing she wasn't going anywhere now. "We're the ones that Junko played for fools, yes." He confirmed once again, leaning against the door frame and putting his hands into his pockets. "We're barely able to do anything at all, so if you're afraid of me or anyone else, you're putting your fears in the wrong place."
