Long time no see.

Life has changed a bit, and I’ve experience quite a few more jobs that made me thankful for my time at McDonalds. I can’t see any submits or asks (something about my account being “deactivated”? (How do I reactivate that)  But I’ve left McDonalds about 2 years ago :) It’s given me plenty of adventures to blog about, and I look at them now with smiles. These are fond memories. I went to college, changed my major twice, and found out that fast paced jobs aren’t really my fancy. Even found myself a pretty nice boyfriend too.  But besides for that, everything is good. I hope there are even more McDonald’s blogs to keep you all entertained. I may log on from time to time, but I won’t have much to add. Thanks for all the fun times, guys! Best of luck.  -IML

McTip: Do NOT let customers use your phone.

So this was back when I was newer at McDonalds, maybe 5 months into it, and we had a certain regular. She was heavy set with black bags under her eyes. She fidgeted a bit, but I thought it was a medical condition (cause naive).  I was on break when she said she had to call her mom. Apparently she was in the hospital and her phone was dead. So I’m thinking, “Well okay, sure. I can help!” So I hand her my phone.  Big mistake.  She called the person a few times but they didn’t answer. Afterwards she started texting the number, and this went on for the duration of the break. I told her that I had to clock in soon and she told me that she’s almost done.  Finally it’s time for me to clock in. She hands me my phone back and thanks me. I’m thinking, “Well, that was a long conversation, but whatever.” I go back to work.  Not 30 minutes has passed and I feel a vibration in my pocket. I didn’t see the message until I got off the clock to go home. The message read, “ya boo. u no we tight. how much u wnt per gram?” “HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT PER GRAM?!” DID SOMEONE JUST DO A DRUG DEAL VIA MY PHONE? WTF MAN o.o I didn’t even respond to it. I really didn’t want to. But how many balls does one possess to say you’re calling your sick mother when in actuality, YOU’RE TRYING TO SELL SOME DRUGS ON SOMEONE ELSE’S SHIT?! DO YOU NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT YOUR ACTIONS COULD TRACE BACK TO MY PHONE IF IT GOES UNDER INVESTIGATION? SERIOUSLY?! And that’s the last time I let a customer use my phone. Ever. The end.

When you’re training a newbie and they become a smart ass when you ask them to do something.

First regular died today...

I’m not really sure how to feel about it. One day he was getting the usual Sausage Muffin with grape jelly and hot sauce and the next day his family tells us he had a massive heart attack.  He was a weird little man, but he was always polite. The last time I saw him, he had such a blank stare. Didn’t even say hello. Maybe he knew his time was near.  This is seriously fucking me up and I’m not even involved besides for being the person who handed out his order o.o imagine how his family feels.  Luckily, I haven’t had any close relatives die as of yet. It’s just strange that I’m not going to ring up his order anymore.
