Today is pub day for TWO GRAVES, my latest graphic novel, alongside co-creators Ming Doyle and Annie Wu!
Emilia and the man with the veil of smoke have set out for the ocean in a stolen truck. There’s a bloody handprint on his neck. She’s beginning to worry it’s hers.
Racing to get her mother’s ashes to the Atlantic, Emilia and Death must stop for Death to work – in towns that don’t exist any more, an aspen forest, the bottom of the sea, and escape three of his former colleagues who've been ordered to hunt down Emilia at any cost. And between motel rooms and abandoned trains and a high school prom, they’ll have to face what’s happening to Emilia.
Death and the Maiden go on a road trip. Nobody gets out alive.
Art by Annie Wu and Ming Doyle; colors by Lee Loughridge; letters by Aditya Bidikar. With new essays from Sarah McCarry, Veronica Schanoes, Stephanie Lai, N.K. Jemisin, & Ekaterina Sedia.
This has been a labor of love, from the initial plan down to the last backmatter essay, and I'm excited to have it out in the world! (The trailer at the top was originally made for the School Library Journal SLJ Teen Convention; the software was a learning curve, but I wanted to put it here in decent quality, because heaven knows Twitter doesn't let you.)
