We are very excited to be a part of Audiofeed in Illinois once again this July! This festival and the community involved in it has always felt like home to us, and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of old and new friends.

Adrienne is a genius.

How so, you ask?

The list of reasons would be far too long to write here. But, among other things, she's constantly coming up with recipes that use lavender from the lavender shrub growing in our front yard.

We've made at least four batches of these cookies in the past month or two; they're so good we can't keep enough of them around.

Lemon Lavender Shortbread Cookies

2 Sticks butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 cups flour, zest of 1 lemon, something like 4-5 tsp ground lavender buds/flowers (we use a coffee grinder for the lavender). 1/2 tsp vanilla and a sprinkle of salt, if desired.

Cut together with pastry blender (or food processor), squash dough together into a ball and roll out 1/4" thick. Cut in squares (or use a cookie cutter if you want???) and bake 350* for 10 minutes or so. Cool on cookie sheet. Mix the juice of the lemon with powdered sugar to make glaze. Smear the glaze on the cookies and garnish with more lavender flowers.

Super easy, super yum, and absolutely delightful with a cup of black tea.
