“You. Yes, YOU. I’ve been watching your every move. From the time you wake up and shit to the time your special friend works your chunky ass to sleep at night. I can make your world a nightmare, but, today I woke up on the right side of the trash pile. LIKE or REBLOG if you want some Hellspawn in your life. That way, I have some entertainment and it keep me out your way. My trigger finger is starting to get an itch only hollow points can scratch…”

Jason’s eyes grew huge at the explosion. The splash radius of it was pretty decent, able to get most of the other peddlers and thugs off the street. Or infused them into the street. “My exact point. Not everyone will back down. Fear only gets you so much. And I’m doing it so no one else has to.”

† A secondary explosion went off from the car adjacent to it. He did have a job to do and he made sure bodies dropped. Spawn also thought about the flip side of the coin. Of the people dead, how many families are now destroyed by that same act? Sirens blared nearby.

“Eventually your going to have to pay for all your sins. And your loved ones are the first feel that pain. The more bodies you drop, the larger the chessboard becomes, Red Hood.”

She acquiesces, flying towards the source of distress, though Aracely has never been as fast as some of her teammates. “They’re scared. They think they’re seeing ghosts. I can’t sense the ghosts, what do ghosts feel like?”

“I wouldn’t say feeling, more like a emotion. Imagine if you could feel someone’s despair or happiness like you touch tissue paper. It can get..overwhelming.”

†+ The empathy he received from wake of the rift down town shook him halfway across the planet. By plane, boat or dragon, he had to help. Unbeknownst to his old friend, it also was a good chance for Spawn to regain his energy. Assimilating one soul at a time.

“And just what is it you want from me?” Not many people had the gall to actually confront her on the streets of Gotham. Bruce and his little band of protégés aside, most people tended to ignore her once they realised she could readily handle them. Talia didn’t look like the sort who could leave bodies in her wake but she used that to her advantage. She would’ve used it this time had her own instincts told her not to.

†+ Simmons had his fair share of mercenaries and assassins, robotic and otherworldly. But when it came to defying the laws of death, the entire Ghul family deserved to burn

†+ When Spawn first heard of the Lazarus pit, he instinctively knew something had to be done to seal the cess pool and topple the empire who had built themselves on it. However, with her relations to Batman, some things he could be let go. For now, He had other business

“When you are known for death in by numbers, Hell is going to come eventually to eat the scraps. You life may be in danger because of it. And the dogs on your ass breath Hellfire.”

Why I am not hyped about Black Panther? - Why should I be?

Don’t get me wrong, I am glad to see more mult-racial characters being given more and more screen time. It just comes to show that we as a people/culture (yes, I’m black af) are having more influence as time goes on. To think there will be a move about a black king and queen fighting for good is bonkers.

However…

My people seem to look at the glamour of the big screen being the same thing as influencing a nation and appreciating history. We have had black lead heroes in movies before. Blade, Spawn, Shaft, Blank Man, King Kong (do your research) are just to name of a few. But when the last time someone appreciated these corner stones?

Really, ask yourself: Are you happy because a (constantly) retelling of a people is being retold again or are do people pay attention NOW because box office smash hits like Avengers are already main stream and we want to ride the wave? Are we not just acting like sheep still?

The fact that black people are so hyped about BP but undermining everything we done so far as a people shows not the appreciation of our ancestors but the sign of a broken ego. We want to see someone who can represent us and go head to head with the majority of white heroes. We want to be like someone we already know we surpassed. Why are we so amped about being like someone else when we are the trendsetters?

The main demographic who will be watching this movie are blacks and other minorities. Black culture can be considered a sub-culture to the founding american protestant ideal so OF COURSE more and more black people are going to watch the movie as a faux sign of racial support. But look at this from a economical stand point. Your going to have MILLIONS of people, who feel they are oppressed via media and feel their voice is not getting heard, watching the poster child of the revolutionary movie..to support ourselves?

I really don’t get that.

That’s like a fish drinking fiji water while living on a boat in the pacific..

It is the same logic as hippies being oppressed during Nam then a anti-war campaign pops up sponsored by the government and the WHOLE community rallies behind it.. While the hippie may feel he is being justifiede, that is not the same as going out trying to stop the war.

How many black people voted for Obama? How much social reform actually happened while he was in office? People were still being gunned down and people were just okay with a presidential address instead of the guy everyone in the community voted for putting his foot down.

NICK FURRY WAS BLACK!!!! While some may not see that as a big milestone it’s the position that people over look. Without Fury, there would not even BE the fucking avengers. The power behind that message is monumental ! He was the center piece to the entire screenplay but people are sooo caught up by the fact he isn’t shooting lightning or riding in a nice car.

Here are some more people you may not have realized are african;

APOCALYPSE

BLACK ADAM

Technically, any character that comes from Egypt is african. Why are we not praising these people like we do BP? Is it because they don’t look like us? Why does appearance matter if you appreciate the history?

And for the record, before I get all this hate for speaking my mind, I don’t watch hero movies. Majority of the stuff you can learn about a movie in a google search then watch clips on Youtube to piece together the story. I don’t really care who is representing who, but I do care about the effect the viewers obtain when watching this propoganda.

If you can’t appreciate the past black stars of hero movies and the pivotal roles they have had over the years like so many are praising the BP film, why should I care ?

This is top hill bullshit. Now to be serious…. when we’re these movies released? When did spawn come out? When did blade? Imma skip the shit out of King Kong not only because I hate that movie to my core for its undertext but because there is no way to turn that into something shining and good for black representation. The problem with so call calling people out for not appreciating these movies is the fact that it’s bullshit. It was black people that made those movies popular. It is in fact black culture that holds them dear. The appreciation for BP does not erase the love and support anyone had for our previous shit 🙄. The goal is not to stay on what we had…

Sometimes I hate being black because we are always in demand of staying in the reality of shit. We can’t just be chill, just enjoy, just have hope have fun with some shit because there’s always someone who thinks it’s their job to remind us shit ain’t gon change - we is black…we know 😒. That’s not what BP is about we don’t actually think Hollywood ass gonna change or white people gonna change. But what BP does do is force the them for a small time to be as uncomfortable as we are every damn day. And the fact that it’s in their oh so for their ass franchise is just the creme - most black people don’t live on the hope of the world changing…but we also resent the fact that it gets to pretend while we can’t. The Obama conversation…really?!

I’m gonna also skip that portion about Egypt cause…hahaha…and the question of if appearance –strike that…color - matter in representation….(I’m doing this on my phone bruh and I wish I wasn’t cause the gifs I would be inserting!)

Here’s the thing….BP gonna get love, if you don’t feel that it should well 👏👏👏 don’t get jive then. But the mindset that the praise of BP means we don’t know about what came before and appreciate what came before is a huge ass leap - too huge. And appreciate those black stars?! Who the fuck you think we’re their fans! Now yes a lot of us don’t do snipes no more but given what happened can you blame us?! Black women get tired of holding up black men who shit on them. But that don’t mean we don’t recognize him for his shit.

And why do people always think someone gonna hate them for some shit?! Like nobody don’t actually care is just conversations and opinions on the table. We ain’t trolls and and conversations about these issues are serious. I don’t agree with you on just about any of your points but you have a right to yours just as I have a right to mine.

Let’s get something’s understood. I am not speaking from my emotional investment I have for the character because that creates an biased. I’m speaking from historical consistency of minorities actions within a subculture. But more specifically, the african-american culture towards cinematic representation .of a people.

1. Yes, the movies I mentioned did come out decades ago, but as quick as your willing to completely undermine these outdated movies, your even quicker to assume that supporting a character representing Africans is the same as supporting the African-Americans. Again, this is our people not appreciating OUR own culture. Rather, we are trying project ourselves into something/someone else who we feel fits are criteria based on a shattered ego of who we, as African-Americans (Not Africans).

That is a fish drinking fiji water on a boat in the middle of the pacific.

2. KING KONG actually represented the societal mind set of the Europeans during their conquest of Africa. Before science distinguished the Gorilla as a animal, misguided and racially biased explorers believed apes were black people. Just as some black women feel that white women are “taking our men” the exact same was believed by white men believing black men are taking their women . Kong taking the originally white woman from the building is a subconscious symbol of racial take over.

KING KONG (the same tool used as a symbol of oppression) is the same titan who fought Godzilla, who in fact, is a representation of ‘Serpent Power’ or what Yogi’s describe as Kundalini.

Think about that for a second: He fought Godzilla and gave him da’ biscuits. Continue the history of Kong (or apes all together) in american media and it went from “Oh no its a crazy ape” to “apes. together. strong.” While you may feel that is not worth championing, I do. Because any people who are able to turn a symbol of oppression into a symbol of power understand the power their people have over another. King Kong was a symbol of fear and misunderstanding and that transmuted into a symbol of dominance and power.

Tell me if this sounds familiar: A group of simian (primal) powerhouses were invaded by a person (or people) from a cooler environment, enslaved them,  used them for their resources then destroyed their homeland. That’s the plot summary of DBZ, The Avatar, Underworld, and the list continues.

History repeating itself.

3. “ Sometimes I hate being black because we are always in demand of staying in the reality of shit” - Never has there been a day in my fucking life where I said I hated being who I am or where my family came from. I understand that reality and accept it. But rather than living in a dream land of what my ego feels I should be, I live my reality at face value. I am not sure about you, but I don’t live in fantasy. That’s slave thinking of a free world. Conditioning at it’s best.

“That’s not what BP is about we don’t actually think Hollywood ass gonna change or white people gonna change. But what BP does do is force the them for a small time to be as uncomfortable as we are every damn day.”

You do realize the people behind BP is white, right? The actors may be black but cross reference that with the production team. If entire movie was made by black people, sure, I’ll agree. But your not making anyone uncomfortable if your supporting something they made, yet, you yourself feel uncomfortable about a giant ape swinging from a building.

I could go more in detail but I think these three points are more than enough for a counter argument. I honor and respect your opinion, though, there is a difference between following a trend and supporting a people.

†+ Spawn had found himself inside a cemetery mausoleum. He recently used the building as a stockpile cache for a shipment of stole beam cannons he borrowed from a naval aircraft carrier. They were meant to be shipped to the Italian mafia, but the entire bloodline was late for the drop off. The sex trafficking syndicate could, however, be found all over town. In pieces.

†+ That was the first stop tonight. He had business to take care of tonight, but his plans was cut short by an energetic signature his symbiotic suit picked up from miles away. Hundreds of miles. From the upper stratosphere.

It felt as if terror incarnate was descending upon Earth. Spawn’s intial thought was archangels. Who ever it was, he was going to send their ass packing if they wanted trouble. He continued to arm himself with the latest military-grade weaponry. Something..someone..some..force..was coming.

†+ Another sleepless night. It had been almost a week since he last saw the back of his eyelids for more than a blink. Truly, slumber was never a requirement for a murderous Hellspawn but, for once, he would have liked his head to be his own space. Not the house of Hell’s worst nightmares.

†+ On the far end of the alley, slumped over a mound of old McDonald’s wrappers, broken bottles and needles and the occasional finger, Spawn could see someone. He seemed hurt. Not one to shun anyone away, but also not one to accept strangers openly, Spawn kept his jade gaze fixed on him.

He said ‘same as any other vampire’, or tried to as least, as if it were obvious. As if Robbie fucked with Vampires everyday. Like Vampires were his speciality. His head snapped around to look at the hellspawn, if he had any eyes in his sockets, they would have been pleading with th other to impart some wisdom on him… perhaps explain how the fuck vampire exist.
Then again he was a skeletal ghost rider claiming lives, stood in a room with… some hellish thing that seemed to be a little annoyed at him for crashing his party. He was going to have to start putting his priorities in order.
“Any other fucking….”
He whispered to himself through the flames, whipping the chain out to wrap around the neck of one of the things charging him. It’s hands came up to try and free itself, only succeeding on making the weapon lock around it tighter. The metal heated quicky to a temperature that shouldn’t have been earthly possible and the vampire cracked away and fell into a dismantle pile of pieces and ash. The HellFire seemed to have that affect on everything it touched. Now that he thought about it he wondered whether he could get the scientists at SHIELD to work their magic on it, find out what gave it the power and extensive and unlimited energy.
As quickly as the entire situation began, The spawn was pulled away and down to the lower level of the building. Robbie stood still for a moment and then dashed forward, sending one glance down into the darkkness before returning his attention to the vampires gathering on his level.
“…. You alright down there, mate?”
†+ As much as he would have liked to reply, he was caught up. The nosferatu trio were making quick work of the Hellspawn. Unlike many of the heroic breed, speed was not one of Spawn’s strong suits. With fingers like ice picks the team of monsters ambushed him from all sides.

Slashing away at his limbs, torso and head. The moment he tried to swing, another chipped away at his fleshy form.

Green necroplasm poured from his wounds. As speedily as the the wounds recovered, another incision was made. Spawn wrapped one of his chains around a pursuing vampire and slammed him into the duo remaining. Crashing into a rusted out sink. Water spritzed across the dusty ground as the triplets came to. Spawn glanced upwards to see the enflamed sketelon holding his own.

Image

“I’m fine. Though, these mosquitoes won’t be for much longer..”

†+ The vampires charged at him again, but he stood ready. Temperatures down in the basement spontaneously began to rise. Spawn could literally feel the sin permeating throughout the compound. From the many lives that were taking by the vampires to the seeded in within that ally’s soul. Well, souls.

He quickly stretched out his arm and a torrent of torrential Hellfire spat from the palm of his hand. Incinerating the bodies and souls of  two of the vampires on contact. The remaining vampire attempted to flee, but a stretch of the Hellspawn’s cloak caught him and drug him back.

†+ Simmons picked the cretin up and rammed his entire arm through his chest. Blood dripped over his shoulder, which Leetha soaked in like spring water. The impaled vampire, however, did not pass on. No, Spawn would not allow his soul to the pleasure of returning to Hell. Like a rabid dog, fang-like points formulated from Spawn’s cloak and consumed the punctured vampire.

Body, mind and soul. Bit by bit, chunk by chunk.

“...The basement is all clear.”

WHICH VILLAIN?

So I decided I’m going to RP a villain but I’m stuck on which to choose. Here’s the list so far.

- Deathstroke (My usual go-to) - Apocalypse - Braniac

- The hash slinging slasher - Black Adam - Solomon Grundy - Magento -Juggernaut

- Ywach Bach - Naraku - Darkseid

Which villain would you all like to see ? Keep in mind, I’m not so hip with RPing whatever is popular at the moment so maybe someone with a steady run prior to the mcu/dccu explosion. Feel free to reblog.

Spawn vs Robber. [Musings]

†+ Summer had shown its blistering face out the blue in Manhattan. The brick and iron monoliths that held the ants of the concrete jungle acted as giant mirrors for the sun's heat. One could literally see the steam rising from the baking streets. Busted fire hydrants sprayed cooling water where children and their parents jumped and played. Central park bustled with summer time bliss. Peddlers sold fresh baked treats and ice cream trucks posted up. Dishing out balls of cold, refreshing ice cream.

†+ Deep within central park, while the city enjoyed its summer, a young woman was wishing today would end. She and her three year old son was held at gun point by a drug dealing addict down on his luck. He needed a quick fix, a adrenaline boost.

“P-p-p-please! Don't hurt my boy!” She cried. Making herself a barrier between the loaded fire arm and her child's skull, where the barrel of the gun pointed.

The mugger raised his armed hand, ready to pistol whip the frightened woman. “Shut up! Just shut up! Just give me your purse..A-and your bra. Yeah..”

†+ Spawn just happened to be in the area when the robbery was underway. He watched from the shadow of a large tree. This wasn't his problem. He could careless what happened to the woman, robber or child. He was at the park to clear his head but it seems trouble always attracted itself to Simmons. He battled with himself whether to keep watching or jwalk away.

Suddenly, the young boy dodged past his mother and became the shield. Blocking the robber from his beloved parent. Tears was streaming down his face but Spawn saw in the boy the spirit of a fighter. Someone who would not let anyone hurt the ones he loved.

“Leave mah mommy alone!” The boy scream with all his might.

†+ The addict snickered at the boy's bravado and slapped the child away with no hesitation. The few teeth that the boy had projected from his now split lip. The mother tried to console her son but the robber shoved the barrel of the gun into her left breast. Pulling back the hammer.

“Aye, don't get antsy bitch. Money and undies! Now!” He demanded.

†+ The woman was frozen solid. Too scared to move. Not because of the man trying to rob her. But the brooding hellion that towered behind him. Spawn's emerald eyes were blazing. One thing he NEVER stood for was abusing a child.

“Hey!” The robber shouted. “You deaf or somethin'? Maybe I need to knock some sense into you too you dumb broad!” The man raised his hand to pistol whip the woman but he realized his gun was missing.

Confused, he looked left and right. Bullets then rained down before his eyes. The empty gun suspended in the air by a chain wrapped around the trigger guard. He spun around to see what was happening but Spawn was too fast. The Hellion clutched razor-like claws into his neck and hoisted him in the air. Blood dripped from his fingers. The robber tried to squirm but he knew he was going nowhere.

Image

“You think your tough, you piece of shit? Your all strong and powerful with a fuckin' gun but what about now?! Beat me like your did the child! Slap me! Threaten me! DO IT! Grows some fuckin’ balls!”

†+ Spawn had achieved a almost heroic status to the people of manhattan. The woman knew who he was on first sight though he was only mentioned as an urban legend. She finally got her wits and picked her child up and nursed his wounds. At this point, the man was pissing himself in fear.

“God, please don't kill me man! I'm sorry! Please!” He begged.

Spawn drew the man's face near his. Volumes of necroplasmic clouds lifted from corners of his eyes.

Image

“God can't help you now...Your ass is mine.”

†+ The boy came to, now seeing what was happening. It was Spawn! The guy who took the bad guys out! But he was hurting people. That wasn't very heroic. The boy jumped out of his mom's arms and wrapped his tiny army around the trunk of Spawn's left leg.

“Please Mr. Spawn, don't hurt him. He's not a bad guy, he's just hungry or something..Your a good guy! You don't hurt people!” He cried.

“Yeah man! Listen to the kid!” The robber agreed.

†+ The Hellspawn, after a tense moment, released his grip on the man. He managed to get himself up and he sprinted like a bat out of hell. The boy had a sparkle in his eyes. He saw his hero in action! His mother took his hand and pulled him away. Fearing that the Hellion would do to the boy what he was going to do to the robber. The boy, nearly jumping out of his skin from excitement, smiled.

“That's Spawn! He's a good guy!”

†+ Ends of his cloak gathered the bullets, loaded the gun and gave it to the frightened woman. Spawn's voice was directed completely at the woman who hesitantly took the firearm.

Image

“Next time, carry protection. I won't be here all the time.”

He then headed back into the shadows of the overgrown trees where he vanished in plain sight. Later that night, the same robber had found himself on the outskirts of rat city getting high off drugs he and a half dozen goons stole from another drug dealer. Rats had scurried across the piss-drenched concrete. He had to take the edge off. Today wrecked him psychologically.

“...Fuck that costumed freak! Who does he think he is? Spiderman?!” He mocked. His allies all laughed in responses. “Yeah!” One said aloud. “If I was there I would have filled his stupid ass with more lead than a box of pencils! We run this city, not some freak in tights!”

†+ Suddenly, the air shifted from blazing hot to ice cold. The rats and insects that outnumbered people stopped moving. Even the bums that dotted the alley all got their things and moved away from the group. As if something bad was going to happen. The men grew weary. Scared.

“Th'fuck's goin' on?” The robber inquired. The posse of drug addicts all pulled out their side arms. Frantically searching for HIM. They could feel it. He was around. Spawn was somewhere near them. And they couldn't figure out where. Unfortunately, they did know that Spawn was there watching them the entire time. He followed the robber after he left the park and murdered every contact he came across. Leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.

BOOM! A sniper round tore open a cavity into one of the men's chest. The group tried to run but all but the original robber had been gunned down before they could get back to the main street. The robber backed himself into a corner. Shooting shot after shot into the dark where he could see Spawn's outline.

“Come out, you ugly fuck! I know your here! You don't scare me!” He yelled.

The Hellspawn emerged from the thick of darkness. Ribbons of his cloak swayed around him. Chains slapped against the ground and brick walls crumbling the surfaces. He glided over the ground and as he done so, the robber emptied the last of his rounds into the shadowy mercenary. Close up, he could see that all his shots actually did hit him. Green ooze fell from the open wounds. But what kept him terrified was the fact that Spawn took a whole clip and didn't flinch a damn muscle. Spawn stood before the man who again was pissing himself. There was no one here to save his ass. Not even God.

Image

“....You should be.”

†+ The sound of the man's screams echoed all through Rat City.
