Change: OOC

I’d like to take a moment or so of your time to talk about change. It seems to be a theme of mine for 2017 and with the new year coming I’ll share my own take on things, and well if yo don’t agree with everything, that’s fine. If you agree with points, that’s cool too. This is strictly my opinion so take it however you want.

Change is a constant thing, be it with people or situations, change is ever present in our lives. At times it is a bringer of chaos, at times it brings peace and resolution but it’s always there. Change happens in others, people change, you change too. It’s not often the case of ‘this person changed so much from what they were’ though sometimes it is. When friends change, things happen. Maybe you continue to get along, maybe you still talk and do things together, and then there are the cases of drifting apart, and in other times, rekindling friendships that had gone dormant for a long while.

If you break away from people, it’s not your fault, and it’s not theirs either. Situations and circumstances make for change, it’s true, but in the end we all make our choices on how we handle things, be they for good or bad, and it’s our responsibility to live with the choices we’ve made. The same can be said on the other side of the spectrum. If people break away from you, it’s not your fault, it’s not theirs. They made decisions they thought best for them and it’s best not to linger on the what could have been and move on, which at times I realize can be pretty hard if you’ve invested a good deal of time and emotion into it.

I’m sure you can list something within this year that’s changed you, be it for good or bad, be it a happy situation or a terrible one, in a game, in real life, in any aspect of your life, something has changed and you, in turn, change with it. The important thing here, dear friends, is to remember that it’s not the end of the world. The sun will rise tomorrow, you’ll wake up and continue on your own path, either taking those who are close with you, or severing ties with those who have their own path to walk.

The important thing here, and should always be important, is to take care of yourself. It’s alright to look out for people, give insight when asked, but remember, if you aren’t happy, that’s when things need to change. Remember that despite all that is going on around you, that you are special, you are one in a million and that above anyone else, you should love yourself. Your life is too precious, too short to worry over the little things that in the end, don’t do you any good.

That being said, to everyone who’s read this, I hope you know that you are amazing, I hope the world continues to change for you, and you with it. I hope you continue to grow and prosper in all you do and all you hope to accomplish.

A reminder that you don’t need anyone to make your happiness for you, especially in the RP world. If you try to always get into a relationship icly for the sake of keeping rp interesting then you have the wrong idea. You make your character interesting, not anybody else. Trust me…I found that out the hard way recently.

Be strong for yourself and for your muse.
