A nano-sized guitar string vibrates and crackles in an unexpectedly organized and intricate way, according to researchers who devised a way to listen to a nanoscale guitar for the first time – and then played the Cornell alma mater on it.

One hundred and fifty years sound pretty good... 🎶🎵🎶 ⠀ ⠀ The Cornell Glee Club hit all the right notes during its sesquicentennial concert in New York City. This club, the first home to student singing at Cornell, formed in the fall of 1868, just a little more than a month after the university opened its doors. Through the years, thousands of men have performed in more than a dozen languages, bringing music to students and audiences around the world. ⠀ ⠀ Join the celebration as they end their national tour in Ithaca this Saturday, January 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca. #Cornell — view on Instagram http://bit.ly/2HwSfkh

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ⠀ ⠀ Today, we remember the leadership and reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To honor King’s commitment to labor and social reform, the @KheelCenter’s exhibit “All Labor Has Dignity” will showcase fliers, correspondence between labor leaders, archival footage and an audio recording of Dr. King’s final public appearance in New York City. ⠀ ⠀ Visit the exhibit from January 22 to July 22 in Ives Hall. #MLKDay #Cornell #MLK — view on Instagram http://bit.ly/2HlzqjO
