Tamagotchi Uni OS Reinstall Function Discovered

Never under estimate the members of the Tamagotchi Community! Akraut on Reddit was able to discover a hidden menu on the Tamagotchi Uni that provides the option to reinstall the OS (operating system). This functionality does require a wifi connection. If you’ve never installed a software update, the restore version option appears to be disabled.

1. Hold down A and C buttons, while pressing reset. Keep holding them until after the startup screen and tune play. 

2. Choose the new option Restore Ver from the reset menu. Your Uni will connect to Wifi to redownload software. When it's done, it will go to the powered-off mode the same as if it ran out of battery. Without a configured wifi connection, this option will be disabled, but will still show up. 

3. If you wake it, you'll need to download more data, then you'll be given the option to wipe out the tama memory, or keep it. 

4. If you keep your data, it will connect to wifi still another time before restoring your save and resuming.

Akraut notes that being on this menu might be a pause workaround. We’re still hoping that Bandai adds a true off option in an upcoming software update.

So a while ago my friend asked me to translate the instruction manual of the Kingdom Hearts x Tamagochi Nano thing into English. I figured I could put up the final translated sheet on the internet if anyone else needs it as well. NOTE: The translation is a bit memey bc it was for a friend. I’m also not a native Japanese speaker. What I did was just to read the instructions in Japanese and then summarized the meaning instead of like doing proper translation word for word (it was very repetetive and over-explanatory). But the content and meaning is the same even if the words are a bit changed. Hope it can help someone. I have also never touched Kingdom Hearts xD

Got scratches on your Tamagotchi P’s?

Recently I found a few scratches on my P’s screen, naturally I felt gutted how can my beautiful P’s already have scratches it feels like I’ve only had it 5 minutes so I did some research online and I found this: Displex Screen Polish & Fine Scratch Remover which can be purchased from local craft stores or online like here for just a few €/$/£ it says it’s great to:

Fan-Made Tamagotchi Meets & On App ‘Mixing Meets’ Now Available!

Missing the Tamagotchi Meets, and more recently Tamagotchi On app? Have no fear, a substitute is here. We’ve heard whispers throughout the community for months, and now it has been released! Several key members of the Tamagotchi community got together to archive and reengineer the Tamagotchi Meets and On app to ensure it could be used once the applications were shutdown from Bandai.

MixingMeets, the fan-made Tamagotchi Meets and On application is now open to the public. The application will take the experience to the next level with more features, and even more characters! At this time there are over 90 marriage characters, a live town feature to let you know who is online, and a profile feature to help you keep track of genetics throughout the generations.

There’s an official website for the application where you can learn more about it here. The application is running on custom servers compatible with the existing application client, with slight modifications. It’s important to note that the creators of the application are not affiliated with Bandai or any particular company. The project is free, no fees of any kind of paid services are part of it. Donations are being accepted, and there is a link on their website.

The MixingMeets application is only available for Android devices at this time, and can only be obtained by downloading an APK file and installing the application on your device, not through a traditional application store such as the Google Play store. The link for the APK is exclusively on their Discord channel, under the download channel.

Amazon Japan Lists Tamagotchi Smart Pixar Friends TamaSma Card

You knew it was coming! Back in late September we saw the listing on Hubbyte Toys & Collectibles, and now it’s official. Bandai Japan has not yet announced this new TamaSma Card, but with the Tamagotchi anniversary on November 23rd, we’re on the eve of an announcement.

Amazon Japan has just listed preorders for the Pixar Friends TamaSma Card! Not much information is provided on the listing, but with the images we can stitch some information together. The TamaSma Card itself features some cute collaborations of Pixar x Tamagotchi, including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, and more!

Like every other TamaSma card, it will feature exclusive meals, snacks, accessories, items, wallpapers, watch faces, and of course a mini game! The meals include a Planet Pizza pie, coral Kelly, dumplings, and Pixar homme. Snacks include a cheese snack, candy, cookies, and gold cake. Accessories include diver goggles, bonnie bag, Pixar balloon, and an m-helmet.

Items include an energy tank, tiny toy, ink eagle, and a record player. The four wallpapers are Andy’s Room from Toy Story, Monster’s Room from Monsters Inc., Nemo’s Room from Finding Nemo, and Inside Room from Inside Out.

There three watchefaces are adorable! Two are Toy Story themed with one featuring Woody and Buzz Lightyear, the second featuring the Pixar ball, and the third one featuring Michael “Mike” Wazowski, and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan, the two main characters of the film.

The mini game is the iconic Toy Story claw game where you could grab one of the aliens! How iconic is that?

Your Tamagotchi character can dress up in Pixar themed outfits, and when you play with toys you can see famous scenes from the corresponding movie! Your Tamagotchi character can even tell you a Pixar related story, and you can wear accessories and change your living room with a Pixar theme!

The Pixar Friends TamaSma Card is listed on Amazon Japan for ¥1,980 with a release date of February 4th, 2023. We anticipate that Bandai Japan will make their official announcement on November 23rd, 2022 to help celebrate the 26th anniversary of Tamagotchi!
