i need more people to write soap as a math and science genius

like he is a human calculator. gaz shows it off as a party trick even though soap is the one actually doing something. like

“oy, look what my mate can do- soap, c’mere!”

and soap, who has done this a thousand times before, walks over.

“ok, ok- someone ask him a math problem. like- literally anything.”

someone gaz is talking to goes “uhh… seven radical three times the square root of nine,” and soap blinks a few times, stares at the ceiling for a moment, his fingers flick around a little, and about ten seconds later he says “forty-five thousand three hundred and sixty.”

and someone pulls out a calculator and goes, “holy shit, he’s right!”

and soap is just like “are you done now?” so that he can finally go back to shamelessly hitting on his lieutenant.

Still laughing about Caleb casually telling Essek in front of the Marble Tomes that he was in training to be a Scourger, when they have one in custody right that second for attempted murder in the Dynasty. Like from Caleb's perspective he'd established his goodwill pretty loudly via the beacon and even said he was from an "inner circle" of the Empire. But I feel like "btw that inner circle was assassins" is like a next level of bold to say when there has just been an assassin attack. And Essek maybe reads Caleb's earnestness correctly because he doesn't seem alarmed and just quips "are you telling me you're a Scourger?" and easily accepts the answer of no; it came across almost more like a teasing remark than anything else. But I also can't help but wonder if Essek, secretly-working-with-the-leader-of-said-assassins-(among-others) Essek, was also playing 5D chess with himself in his head for a moment as Caleb unknowingly threw yet another wild curve ball specially formulated to incite Crisis Mode for one (1) traitor in particular

Everytime I see “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism” as a response to criticisms of people buying Hogwarts Legacy I take a moment to mourn the loss of nuance.

Like yes the above statement is true, but some types of consumption are more ethical than others and context matters. Buying a game based in an antisemitic premise that will line the pockets of a transphobe who has been cited as a source in and actively promotes anti-trans legislature is not the same thing as buying fast fashion because you can’t afford anything better or that’s the only place that sells your size. People need to stop pretending all participation in capitalism is equal.

You can buy Hogwarts Legacy, that much is your right. However, I am also within my right to criticize you and your lack of care for the communities harmed by this game and the author of its universe.

no but literally trying to describe the premise of the raven cycle to people is so embarrassing it’s like. It’s YA fearuring high schoolers (red flag) who are private school boys (red flag) and one girl (BIGGER red flag that says “bechdel test? unlikely”) who’s kinda quirky (“not like other girls” red flag) who’s not psychic but she wants to be and she’s supposed to kiss and/or kill one of the guys (apparent heterosexuality red flag) who wears sperries and khakis (BIGGEST RED FLAG) and also all the guys are kinda in love with each other but not always explicitly (queerbaiting red flag) and there’s a quest to find this dead welsh guy and a lot of magic that’s also a metaphor (pretentious red flag) & a lot of homoerotic descriptions of cars. anyway it’s my favorite series and -
