Hi Kids

It’s your old friend Penny. Been a while huh? I’m still alive, I just got caught up with other things in life, which means I’ve not been caught up on the show in literally years. As pathetic as it is, that’s been one of my biggest regrets. Today I found out the news about the show. I didn’t think it would hit me so hard, given I’ve barely seen an episode in years, but I really am devastated. The guys were such an important part of my life for many years and helped me get through a lot. As did you awesome people who followed me and supported this dumb blog. More than 4k followers (including Woolie! Still the greatest moment in my life. As an aside, thanks for getting the url wrong when you gave a shoutout on the podcast lol), which is way more than I ever expected from this silly endeavor of mine. One of my other big regrets is not having been able to update this blog in so many years.

Okay, so that was a nonsense ramble. I just wanted to thank you guys for the support, and I wanted to thank the guys for all they’ve done over the years, and I wish them the best of luck on their future endeavors.

Just to keep you all in the loop: although SBFP is over, this blog is still going to continue to catalogue OOC quotes from the main SBFP playthroughs as well as the Best Friends own livestreams. You’ll still get your OOC Pat/Matt/Woolie/Liam quotes, you can count on that. The server will also be staying, although some slight changes are going to be made for obvious reasons.

Anyway, blog/server business aside, here’s my copy-pasted thoughts on this whole bit of news: I think it’s important to remember that neither the playthroughs, the memories or the Best Friends themselves are going anywhere. SBFP breaking up isn’t going to change the fact Matt threw that axe into a bottomless gorge, or that Woolie stole my pie, or prevent the Al Bhed race war of 2019. Nothing is ever going to change the fact that phrases like “whah happuh?”, “big problem”, “BA-TER-EE”, “The Baby”, “fart gas”, and “shit-kids” are basically part of my vocabulary forever now.

Obviously it’s a terrible shame that Pat and Matt don’t get along anymore but please try not to dwell on that fact. Whatever problems the two of them have are personal, and we can only hope they figure it out on their own. The best thing we can do is to just continue to support them in their solo endeavours the best we can.

Anyway, if you’re sad - just remember to dab away the tears.
