Waterworks. I get to open this card this afternoon when I get into my "home," and I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it!

"In Bruges"

ok it's two words. I would live here.. Ancient buildings, wonderful people, and a chocolate AND fry museum? The movie doesn't do it justice.

CROSS!

The cyclocross in Oudenaarde taught me mostly about how nice people are. We got pulled to the front to watch against the ropes by this man, and he gave us a lesson in Belgian cyclocross. Many many people helped us get around and home to Brugge. I wish I could thank everyone who was so friendly and so helpful

BIKES

We rented bikes in Amsterdam.. Amazing. Edmonton needs to adopt a system like the Netherlands!

CANALS

Today we just arrived by plane to Amsterdam! There are way more waterways that I thought here! We walked through the Red Light District, which was quiet because it is Wednesday. Right now, just settling in our hotelboat with beers, cheese sticks and a bottle of red.

STEPS!

Today in Oxford, we climbed to the top of the prison tower in the Castle Oxford, and the top of the tower of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. There are over a hundred steps in each, and almost all of them are up narrow spiral starcases that nearly gave me claustrophobia by the end!

REFRESH

We missed the train to Bath today, and had to buy another ticket. After walking for 4 hours around Bath, we went for a nap, and of course, pints. Now we are refreshing our knowledge of crib in the hostel tv room :)

MARKET - [CAMDEN]

We went to the Camden markets today, which was basically "like Whyte Ave, on steroids" (Erin) Afterwards, it was dinner at Laura's: curry and cookies!

TRANSIT

We did a free walking tour of London today, to Buckingham and other palaces. We realized after our après tour pint, that our train service was suspended and we walked down 20 blocks to catch a bus to King's Cross to meet Laura. I'm sort of proud of our ability to read maps!

HERE

We made it, safe and sound, with most of our luggage. My very cute grey hat, however.. Did not make it to England. Time to shop!
