The U.K. has fucked it, and there’s no going back now.

Okay, Farage is a royal twat and I wholeheartedly support the Remain side of the referendum (especially at this point in time - why would you try to leave at this point of time Britain? WHY? Of course the extreme right wing idiots are going to spark up a fuss.) but please don’t report non-truths. Why am I not saying lies? Because Nigel Farage, being the colossal idiot he is, did say that he wanted more relaxed gun laws, especially with regards to handguns but this has very little to do with the current situation, and was instead reported in January 2014.

It’s not a magical new thing where Farage is automatically calling for America-style free for all with guns (sorry America, but it’s not a great situation over there where firearms are concerned) due to the referendum. Let’s focus on the stuff that’s actually happening, because even if the legality of everything is still debatable, the EU has pretty much disowned the UK, the value of the pound has plunged quicker than a barnacle gosling from a cliff, and basically the whole world economy is in chaos at even the thought of Britain being serious about leaving the EU. 

There’s plenty of exciting real things that are happening for everyone to talk about. Please focus on reporting stuff that’s relevant. 

Hmm are we not going to pretend that UKIP aren’t in joint parliament with the Tories? I’m perfectly aware that this was posted two years ago. Others however aren’t, and now that we are becoming independent and David Cameron is stepping out the picture, whilst Farage is still in it, it’s safe to say that this could very well become a possibility whilst he and the Tories are in parliament and we will soon be able to make our own laws. Don’t you think people should be aware of this? It’s not reporting the “non truths” this did happen and it needs to be brought back up.

People absolutely should be aware of the histories of all the major players in politics at the moment, and I do understand that British law is likely to be changed drastically in accordance with the current views of the British people and the UK’s politicians - including Farage’s views on things like gun control. 

I realise now that my post seems to infer that anything of the like (with regards to propositions and opinions about law) is completely irrelevant. This wasn’t my intention - instead, I mean only to suggest that current information is more relevant and acceptable to be posted in the manner that the information about Farage from 2014 has been. It’s probably a good idea to provide anecdotal evidence for any points regarding the intentions of political parties surrounding the referendum, but in the interest of not confusing people, it’s best not to report things from 2 years ago with captions like ‘are we going to spiral any lower as a nation’ and ‘the U.K. has fucked it, there’s no going back now’ without further explanation. 

Really then, my issue is more in the manner that this was reported; both the original tweet and the initial comment by the seem to suggest that this is something current and therefore perhaps tries to scare people into thinking people like Farage are prioritising pushing for things such as looser gun laws (which he probably will be, but we just can’t assume right now - especially after the attack in Ohio and things like that). Not that Farage isn’t a xenephobic arsehole, but that if someone is to attack anyone on any side of the referendum, it’s best to be informed and up to date with any information that is being used. Yes, I know that Farage himself hasn’t really changed ideology (thanks for the posters you put through our letterbox UKIP guys, it’s not like we can’t vote as EU nationals or would vote for you anyway) but other politicians have changes sides. 

If we are to use old information against Farage, we should specify that is just that - old information.
