Herein lies the problem with the MCU making Mjolnir’s “worthy” clause a generic “they’re a really good person” thing. By that criteria any number of superheroes easily qualify. In the comics being worthy didn’t mean just “being good” it specifically meant “be a good Thor” because Odin wanted to be sure that when Ragnarok came around, whoever held the hammer would play Thor’s part in it even if they weren’t Thor himself.

Peter shouldn’t be able to lift Mjolnir because he’s TOO good and pure. To lift Mjolnir you have to be good and noble but also willing to use it to crush the skulls of Asgard’s enemies (Mjolnir means CRUSHER after all), something Pete would not be up for, but an old soldier like Cap would if necessary. Being truly noble but perfectly willing to kill is much more rare in superhero comics. That’s why you get things like in the DC/Marvel crossovers Wonder Woman can lift it while Superman cannot. Being good isn’t enough.

That’s fair.

Someone finally said it

This is literally the most heart warming story I have read on Twitter so far. I think this is exactly what friends should do, and I feel everyone deserves people like this.

A barn rasing:  a collective action of a community, in which a barn for one of the members is built or rebuilt collectively by members of the community.

because you cannot, you CANNOT, build a barn on your own, and without it, you will not be able to survive.

What a fuckin’ gem of a sentence. “What we did today was a barn rasin”

Today I bring you the story of Mieke Gorissen

Mieke is a 38 year old Belgian Physics and Maths teacher. In February Mieke said she wanted to run a marathon for funsies and surprised everyone by running the Olympic limit in that race.

Today she ran the Olympic marathon in Tokyo, where her plan was just to finish the marathon and hopefully not finish last. (Especially since it was HOT as hell)

At the finish line she was already crying of joy because she finished the marathon. When she heard from the interviewer she got the 28th place out of 88 candidates, she could not believe it an started crying harder and saying “that’s not possible”.

For an amateur, Mieke her time and perseverance is unbelievable and highlights the beauty of the Olympics. Here’s to you Mieke, a true Olympian!!!

This is my best friend @paitynn’s car today. Just a few short days after the election. Vandalised with half the equality sticker scratched off. He asked me to share this to show definitively the sad truth: this is our new reality.

If you support trump, you’re the cause. No excuses. Bottom line: this election was about bigotry’s victory in America. A man endorsed by the KKK, who supports sexual assault, an avid racist, islamaphobic homophobe will now be running our country.

I would like my family members who voted for him to look me in the face and tell me why I don’t matter. Why my safety doesn’t matter. Why my basic rights don’t matter. Why the rights of our transgender, Islamic, Hispanic, (the list goes on) brothers and sisters doesn’t matter. Why the safety and equality of millions and millions of people does. not. matter.

Because this is the reality millions are now living in. And this is what your trump support has brought. This is real. The hate is real. The violence is real. And this is just the beginning.

I figure out I had ADHD last year, but I didn’t seek an official diagnosis and medication until this year. I’m 30 years old, my school days are long behind me. I slipped through the cracks because I have predominately inattentive type and I was a quiet little girl. Having ADHD does not mean you have to be hyperactive and loud, it means you have a processing problem in your brain that doesn’t allow you to regulate your focus or emotions.

Mental health even now is still taboo to talk about. People are more open now than ever about it however and that gives me hope.

This is a profoundly personal comic and it only reflects my own experience with ADHD. It is on a spectrum with a wide range of personalities. But if my story connects with someone else and helps them, that would mean the world to me.

this is my EXACT experience!

I will say its not a cure, the current is there but its like being on a boat with a rudder you can have control of what you focus on. However without directing your focus you will still get distracted. Medicine helps but routine and behavior modification is needed.
