MOVED TO @devotedtolight

Hello everyone! So sorry for all the inactivity and lack of writing and whatnot. I’m just popping in to say something about this blog real quick

This blog is going to be archived.

This doesn’t mean I’m quitting rp, however! This blog is just too cluttered and too messy for me to keep using it, and I want to start fresh. So, I’m moving to a brand new one!

What the new blog will feature:

  • An Overwatch verse
  • Organized tags
  • A functioning, readable theme
  • A better directory to both the WoW and OVW stories and descriptions of Neo and Anan

Currently, the blog is still under construction, but a good majority of the blog is set up. You can follow it here @devotedtolight !!

Notes:

  • The Overwatch verse has changed Anandor and Neo’la almost entirely so that they fit nicely into the universe. Their names, story, and looks have been tweaked. Their WoW verse counterpart is entirely intact.
  • Because drabbles are taking too long to write, I’m going to simply sum up what happens in their backstory page and skip to the present to make things easier. The drabbles will still be written, but they are no longer a priority. I’m struggling too much to write them.
  • Seaandra’s blog ( @unholysunblade ) won’t be archived, but it will be overhauled and an Overwatch verse will be added to her preexisting blog.
  • This blog will remain as an archive. It will not be deleted. If you want the url I have, just contact me and I’ll give it to you!

Thank you for reading!

"Commander!" Anandor calls out, moving swiftly towards the other paladin and offers a short bow. He seemed a little troubled. "I've completed today's work orders... And I wanted to know if... it'd be alright to speak with you."

Alyndrah had been moving through the garrison with a list in hand as she conducted her monthly inspections, a necessity thanks to a certain goblin that had joined the garrison soon after it was created.

At the sound of the paladin calling out to her, Alyndrah paused, turning to give Anandor her full attention.

“It’s always alright to speak to me. Is this a private matter?” Alyndrah glanced to the crafters and guards that continued their work around them. But if the other elf sought privacy, she knew it would be better to speak away from curious ears.

It was unlike him to be this unprepared, and his distraction certainly didn’t play in his favor. Upon seeing her charge at him, he took an unstable step back, raising his weapon in a feeble attempt to fend her off. Unfortunately, his tardiness in such a reflex resulted in their collision, and he quickly lost balance in the movement.

He grunted as he fell, and her words echoed in his mind. Something in his chest churned, and he wasn’t sure how he felt, nor did he want to feel. The landing hurt, but it was no longer his main concern. His eyes were wide, heart pounding, and words refused to form.

“N-No, I… I don’t want that, I don’t…” He sputters, a feeling of guilt and shame washing over. “I don’t want it to ruin me, I… That’s the last thing I want. I keep trying to tell myself these things, I have everything back, it’s true. My life, it’s nearly back to normal, and still… I’ve been angry for so many years, it’s like I don’t even remember who I was… am…” He shook his head, bringing up his sparring weapon again, lacking the intent for another strike. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I want to live again, and I can, but every moment that I feel happy, or even dare to smile, I feel wrong. I just feel…”

And there it was, the words came to him at last, and a part of him wished he had kept it buried.

“I feel afraid. I’m scared, and I-I don’t know how to function anymore.”

Alyndrah had helped Anandor to his feet, listening to his words. Some of them struck something within her as well, memories of old feelings she had long since gotten over. Her head was cocked slightly to one side, a look of understanding in her eyes. Alyndrah was younger, but she had her fair share of experiences that she could say gave her a certain amount of wisdom. Alyndrah lowered her shield gently placed her hand on his bicep. “Back during the war in Northrend, I lost someone who was… sort of like a fiancé to me. He was a shaman, and I lost him when we tried to raid the Citadel too early. I spent years trying to cope with his death, and I had to come to terms that I needed to be happy or that sadness, the rage, the weight of my own failure would have consumed me. I didn’t make it to where I am today alone. While many lean on me for support, I had people to lean on, I needed people to lean on. If I think back even further, I had an anger in me from when I was simply a young girl. It’s easy to forget who you are when that rage lives in you.” Alyndrah shook her head. “It won’t be an overnight fix. It will take some time. But if you’re willing, it will happen. Your wife, she will be there. In your darkest hours she will be a support that you need, it may take some figuring out, both of you may fumble, but she will come to understand your pain and adapt to help you as you must do for her, because she, no doubt, is in pain and suffering from the ordeals she’s had to deal with. One day you’ll find yourself smiling and you won’t feel guilty. Until then, we can have more sessions like this. Meditate even. I use my mornings to exercise and have a moment of peace to myself. Feel free to join me.“ “And it’s okay to be scared. I am, a lot more than I care to admit. But let me help you learn to function.”

He was quiet for a moment, his head hung low as he listened. When he looked back at her again, his eyes were different, and his face was soft. The shields he had put up to protect himself, guard how he truly felt were all but gone, leaving him vulnerable, yet true to his inner thoughts.

“I... I don’t know what to say...” He murmured. “You’re right, you’re so right, I just... I needed that. I needed to hear that. Light, I don’t know how I can thank you. It’s been so hard to even form words about this whole thing but I’m... I’m glad I can talk to you.”

The walls came back up, and the raw emotion was concealed once more, yet his face wasn’t entirely hardened. He was more comfortable, though still shaken up, but he looked as if he’d been relieved of such a great weight upon his shoulders. He straightened up, dusting himself off and gave a respectful bow to her.

“Again, thank you. And, I’m sorry for your loss, Commander. You have my utmost respect.”

The paladin took his sparring weapon and neatly placed it back on the rack, seeming tired almost. “I think I’ve had enough. You really have a lot of power, not many people can knock me over like that.

“I’ll heal, but we should refocus. How soon do you think we can get to the other prisoners in the Alliance camp?”

We even both torture them the same. Both Anierous and Neo'la were caught in the middle of the Purge of Dalaran. Now I think about them fighting together to save the Sunreaver civilians, their eyes glowing gold with the Light.

Putting this under a cut since it is quite long.

“Let’s do it.” She said in a hushed tone, though her enthusiasm was still clear. He pressed his lips in a thin line.

“I don’t know, it’s dangerous, Neo,” He said, running his hand through his messy hair. “It just… we don’t know what’s even there.”

“We don’t know what’s here either!” She retorted. “Just being here is dangerous in itself. If we’re going to be stuck up here, we’d might as well see what this world has to offer us.”

Anandor gave a small laugh. “You’re starting to sound a a lot like Ryuk now.” He jested.

She shrugged. “Well, maybe he was right about something.”

Kadran began to pick various volunteers, and Neo'la gave another nudge to Anandor.

“Come on, let’s go. We’re strong, we’ll survive.” She said. She’d always been adventurous, always curious for what’s out there. Often times it was that trait that made them both a good pair, as they both were daring enough to venture out where no one should, just to test to see if they could. Now, fear had moved in and replaced his carefree attitude, and it could either save him, or destroy him.

But perhaps… perhaps Gorgrond could be their key out of this place. He was tired of the snow anyways.

“Okay,” He said at last, raising his hand with a nod. “Let’s do it.”

Plotline Ref (Personal)

NOTES:

- Neo and Anan serve in Bladespire Citadel with the Frostwolves before finding Alyndrah Dawnbourne’s garrison (Alyn belongs to @protectoralyndrah) - Krauul is missing in Gorgrond somewhere, maybe, idk yet - The Dawnstrider Regime becomes known as the Darkstrider Regime. Their base is located in the mountains of the Hinterlands and Arathi Highlands. It is hidden with a massive arcane spell reminiscent of the ones the Draenei used in Draenor to hide their cities in Rise of the Horde. The spell makes it invisible, and is manned by twenty-four magi. - Viridiel has a dozen imprisoned and half-starved san'layn he kidnapped after the fall of the Lich King - Viridiel has not stepped out of his base since TBC. Dana'thor and Ronae are the first ones to see Viridiel since he went into hiding (but even then, this doesn’t count because 1: Dana'thor is blind and 2: Ronae had never seen him before until kidnapped) - Anandor’s status is unknown to a majority of people. Not everyone knows he’s alive yet - Anandor has been a war prisoner for eight years, serving as a slave to the Alliance. (NOTICE : unless canon states how many years have passed from early Cata - late WoD, the number remains at eight) - Dana'thor has put a spell on his mind that prevents any other magic users from invading. - Viridiel is still a high elf

RETCON NOTES:

- General Krauul is now Commander Krauul - Anandor is now 6'5" - Zenith is now 6'7" - Erenor was not killed by Varian. He was ordered to execution by Lady Katrana Prestor (AKA Onyxia). This is a known fact, and Neo'la respects the fact that Varian killed her. No hostility has gone towards the King as a result of Erenor’s death - Anandor was an ambassador, and had even traveled to Alliance territory in representation of the Sin'dorei - Ronae no longer has a love interest living in Stormwind. She is single and uninterested - Aliya now has freckles
