"Rules" for 2024

  1. On Feb. 11, I will observe my 13th anniversary on tumblr. My "rule" here is that I've never actually had, or needed, any rules.
  2. I have no "theme." This is just stuff I like, and I like a lot of stuff.
  3. Most of what you see here is on a 24-hour queue. If it's not the top of the hour, that's me now, live and in-person.
  4. Yes, there is a pattern. For instance, if it's 4:00 PM in the Central U.S., you'll probably see a pic of Claudia Cardinale.
  5. No, I don't check the age on your blog, because if you really are <18, you'd probably lie anyway. But if you are <18, just don't make it weird, ok? Actually, same applies if you're >18. I'm nice; you be nice.
  6. If I "like" one of your posts, 99% of the time I will reblog it within the week.
  7. I keep this blog SFW and PG-13. I do have side blogs on here. foodtellsastory is about food history, the restaurant business, etc. and is more SFW than Jesus Himself. bnwbeauties is "curated" and mostly SFW. tashasnewboyfriend is sort of like this blog but with boobs and stuff, and might not always be safe for church, work, or school, sorry.
  8. Just so you know, I've been anti-authoritarian since I was a little kid, so I hate all fascists/Nazis, both right and left. You've probably figured that out by now. "Rules" are not really my thing.
  9. I love my followers. I like hanging out here. I may complain or whine, but I'm actually a pretty happy guy, and want you to be happy too.

I NEVER get tired of this video. It would be fantastic if the bird was just flying near him, but the fact it feels safe and comfortable enough to land ON his paraglider, isn't startled when he pets it, and is NIBBLING HIS SHOES... blessed moment, absolutely fabulous, 10/10 gold stars.

This is called parahawking! That vulture is tame -- it’s wearing jesses (a leather tie around the leg that a falconer will use to hold a bird when it’s on the glove). In fact that vulture is employed. Parahawking birds seek out thermals the same way they would naturally, allowing paragliders to follow them in the process.

Vultures are often used for parahawking both because of their attraction to thermals, and because vultures, as scavengers, are comparatively gentler and more sociable than birds of prey!

Passover Dinner, 4-22-24. Roast beets for a vegan zeroah, arugula for maror, and tostadas for matzah. Dinner: Tostadas de cordero (with non-dairy cheese), and a potato kugel. Very simple, but I tried to follow the rules, both out of respect and a sign of solidarity.
