Hospital Rooms!

Today and Eduardo and I went in for our weekly appointment. Since I’m now 36+ weeks with twins they want to start seeing me on a weekly basis, especially since most twin pregnancies don’t last this long or much further on. The fact that the due date is approaching rather quickly is exciting and frightening all at once. I’m beyond excited to see our little girls, but so nervous to be responsible for them. It’s going to be so strange seeing them in person rather than on the ultrasound screen.

Since my appointments now mainly take place in the hospital I’ll be delivering in, my doctor decided to give Eduardo and I a tour of a room we could possibly be staying in. Even better, he took us to a room already set up for a twin delivery.

The room was larger than I expected it to be and there was even a space for Eduardo to sleep. How perfect! It was a bit plain, though, and I made a mental note of what to bring. I also felt a sense of calm in the room. It was strange because I hadn’t been feeling calm at all lately. I was restless, uncomfortable, and grouchy most of the time, but in this room I felt at ease. Hopefully I’d feel the same way when I’m actually in labor.

All in all, though things have been good. The babies move constantly and I’m starting to think I might actually take them to 40 weeks. I’m not dilated whatsoever. Hopefully that all changes soon!

Gender Reveal!

Eduardo and I were going to keep the twin’s genders a secret until their birth but we came to the conclusion that we just couldn’t keep it in anymore!

Here are my wives tale results!:

  • Chinese Calendar: Baby Girls!
  • Mayan Calendar: Baby Boys!
  • Babies Heart Rates (+or-140): Baby Girls!
  • Key Test: Baby Boys!
  • String Test: Baby Girls!
  • Baby Bump Shape: Baby Boys!
  • Carrying High/Low: Baby Boys!
  • Daddy’s Sympathy Weight: Baby Girls!
  • Dry Hands: Baby Boys!
  • Cold Feet: Baby Girls!
  • Hairy Legs: Baby Girls!
  • Headaches: Baby Boys!
  • Emotional Wreck: Baby Girls!
  • Morning (All Day) Sickness: Baby Girls!
  • Stealing Mommy’s Beauty: Baby Boys!
  • Food Cravings (Salty v. Sweet): Baby Boys!

So what’s it gonna be? Two boys? Two girls? Or one of each?

Feel free to take a guess!

Fellow mommies!

I’ve been having the WORST morning (all day) sickness. I’ve barely been able to keep down water and ice chips. Toast too here and there.

I have the want and need to eat, but can’t keep anything down.

Any remedies to help settle my stomach?

Surprise!!

Well, it was definitely a surprise to me! I had been feeling ill for for about a week now and Eduardo, being the med student he is, convinced me to take a pregnancy test.

So I took four.

My period hadn’t been late yet, but I’d been extremely nauseous for a full week and pretty moody. (Love you babe!) So I did it.

And ta-da! There’s a bun in my oven! I reckon I’m about four plus weeks at the moment. I go to the doctors in a month exactly to check everything out.

It’s soon, but we’re excited! This little munchkin is going to be so loved by our (rather) large families.
