breelandwalker how close are these substitutions? Most look pretty good but another set of eyes on the list won’t hurt!

Well, I question the use of fresh fruit and black tea for reasons of neatness and adulteration, and I can’t agree with Barley for protection when it’s usually used for abundance and growth.

If you’re looking to put this exclusively into cooking magic, then yes, this is viable, but for general spellcraft, I’d make some alterations.

The changes I would make (ignoring the specialty herbs) would be:

Salt for purification works fine, as does Pecan for gaining employment. Other grocery store finds that are very useful would be Thyme for all-purpose healing, Honey for sweetening and persuasion, Chervil or Apples for love, and Bay Leaves for banishing.

Nobody really appreciates astrology and how useful it is in Tarot sometimes. Or, maybe I’m wrong. People should definitely look into it!

I went ahead and made a cleaner image for the new spread, I like how it turned out. I had to switch two of the positions with each other because it made more sense this way. Anyhow, on with the explanation:

- Position 1: Your self in the light or parts of yourself that you see often

- Position 2: Your self in the shadows or parts of yourself you don’t use much

- Position 3: What you seek at the moment

- Position 4: What you have left behind

- Position 5: What you need at the moment

- Position 6: What to let go of now

- Position 7: The path you will soon take

- Position 8: Your deepest heart brought to light

So there it is! An image, a description…everything you need in order to Read The Sun and learn more about yourself! Let me know if you use this spread, I’d be very curious to see if it worked well for anyone else. I tried it out and it worked out pretty nicely, things seemed accurate and helpful.

My Personal Haides’ Epithets

I love epithets! I also love creating and finding my own to use for worship. Here are a few I use in my hymns, poems, and prayers to Haides. 

I wrote this hymn to Haides and Persephone, focusing on the connection between them, the Earth, while they are apart. Feel free to reblog, and share with credit to me.
