James didn’t change for Lily.

Hear me out though!

James didn’t start maturing until what? Sixth/seventhish year? You know what also happened between that time frame? Sirius running away. Sirius left to live with the Potters and if James truly wanted to change for Lily, don’t you think he would have done so years ago? If he wanted to change for Lily, he could have. But no, it was Sirius I believe who made him grow up a little more. He saw how bad of a home Sirius came from and I can imagine Euphemia and Fleamont taking James aside and telling James that he needed to show what a good influence was like because Sirius only really listened to James. James was the one person that Sirius cared for with all of his heart. So, James began to become more responsible, less arrogant, more friendlier and a lot kinder because that was what Sirius needed.

James didn’t change for the girl. He changed because he didn’t want his best friend going down the wrong path.

what she says: I liked the last jedi! I have a few minor complaints but they were overshadowed by all the good stuff
what she's thinking: Rey calls kylo ren a “murderous snake”, and then when DJ betrays Rose and Finn, Rose calls Dj a “lying snake”. I guess you see snakes on Dagobah so the Star Wars universe DOES have snakes. BUT what are the odds that Rose and Rey who both come from completely different planets would both be familiar with snakes. And what are the odds that the two totally separate cultures they were both raised in, BOTH use snakes in their expressions as a creature that carries negative connotations? It took me completely out of the moment instead of paying attention to Finn fighting Phasma I was sitting there like, does every planet in the Star Wars universe have snakes? Are there some cultures that have different ideas about what it means to be a snake? Like in episode 9 will Poe Dameron pay someone a compliment by calling them “clever as a snake” because on his planet snakes are known for solving complex puzzles. Maybe the snake we saw on Dagobah wasn’t a snake it was just an alien with a different name that resembled an Earth snake. Maybe snakes are not a creature in the Star Wars universe, maybe the word snake is just an extremely vulgar cuss word, and those insults that Rey and Rose were saying were a lot stronger than we thought they were. What other expressions in this universe contain the word snake? I’m gonna start saying, “for snake’s sake!”, “Land snakes!” and then I was like oh my god Captain Phasma just died.

I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun. Pride & Prejudice (2005) dir. Joe Wright

i always thought of a king sized bed as being a bit bigger than a queen, but now that i have one, i can tell you that a king sized bed is an absurdity. i can sprawl out, and my husband can sprawl out, and the cat can sprawl out, and none of us are touching. i reach out in the night, and find only pillows and plush walruses. i reach further and eventually find his elbow. he rolls over the comforters to try and find me. “i have crossed oceans of bed to be with you,” he says. there is a vast expanse of bed untouched, unmapped, unexplored. the cat is still trying to sleep on my face.

This is the exact moment when I knew the casting for AOS was about as perfect as they could get it without time traveling back to 1970 and stealing the original actors.
