   “I suppose that’s one way of putting it.” The auburn haired woman mused  in her Swedish accent as she approached, one slender hand extended in a greeting. “ I’m Sig Magnusen, paleontologist and geneticist for some of the parks projects.” Her stance was hesitant, perhaps nervous, but friendly. Her smile was small but her eyes welcoming, one hand still clutching a note pad to her chest. “  I was told some of my contributions were of some positive influence the raptors projects, and you maybe be able to show me some of their progress?”

His eyes squinted, the sun stood nearly right behind her. It's placement a starnge reminded he hadn't eaten yet. Of course he fed the raptors but hadn't even thought about feeding himself, today. “Right, nice to meet you Miss Magnu-nu-nu...” Owen rubbed the tip of his nose, “How do you say that again? One more time if you could.” he reached for her hand; offering a firm grasp then a quickly release. “When you say some--- which ones are you talking about?” It seems as though the raptors were part of this. Taking a deep brath in, he supposed he had no real choice. “Alright, let me just see if the girls are up for showing off right now.”

             “Uh.” Probably not the most impressionable first word (or sound) he could make when speaking to a stranger, but it served very often as the gateway to a flood of words the moment he finally got into the point of what he wanted to say. “Hello, Owen Grady? Would you mind sparing a moment?” He was hesitant on whether or not he should address him as ‘Dr. Grady’. It would be embarrassing if he accidentally left the formality out, but by now he already moved past the point of adding it to flatter the male (in case he wasn’t such a thing.) 

                “I’m writing an overview report on the behavior of the animals over the course of the month, and so far I have been to all the facilities holding animals except yours. It’s not necessary to go, at all, not when you’re such an esteemed expert on the …uh creatures…would you mind reporting to me if there have been any changes in their behavior, due to weather, food, mood, things like that?” He really didn’t want to go see them himself, if all he had to do was speak to Mr. Grady, then he was going to cling to that possibility as much as possible. 

Owen moved about, not really stopping to look at the the other male as he spoke. Owen nodded and made noises as if he was listening but just barely. When he heard his whole name being used that was when his attention was now solely focused on the other. His brow perked and began to clean off his hands from anything that might spark the interest of the raptors. Spagetti Wednesdays were killers, they really were.  “I'm guessing that was rhetorical since you're still talking.”

He took in a deep breath then let out a yawn. “So you've been to all the pens then?” Owen stopped listening again, only catching a few things as he took a file and began to thumb through. “The only way you're gonna know for sure is if you see the animals. You've been to all of them, why not see first hand the progress of the raptors?---- Well, they have been bred to withstand this heat. Their mood fluctuates from time to time. ---- Barry can tell you about some of it, he's at the pen and we'll answer all you want, who are you again?”

“Goddammit,” He twisted his face and kicked his feet on the ground trying to clean them off, “Which one of you guys did it, huh?”

Her usually calm nature was interrupted. She could hear the loud pitched whines and calls of the raptors and immediately began to pull his hands off her eyes, ‘No, no, no, no, no,no” Lex didn’t want to be on the island. It was the last place she ever wanted to be. “I want to get out of here. I want to get of here, please. Please, please.” Her heart began to race as she turned towards him and wanted to head back to the car and leave.

She was there to talk to Misrani and try to talk some sense into the people running this park She couldn’t believe that after what happened someone was able to give a go ahead to reopen this disaster circus. “Take me back, take me back…I can’t.”

He firmly gripped her shoulders and turned her about so he could calm her down. Her reaction made it clear that she was deadly afraid of these animals. That should be the common reaction though, these were predatory animals. “Shush, shush, you're safe. You're dafe. Open your eyes, look, they're over there and you're out here. Look, they can't get you. Open your eyes, Lexi.”

Owen breathed in trying as hard as he could to calm her down. Anger was one thing, he could deal with that but flat our fear was about making someone feel safe. He just wasn't sure if he could do that for her.

She thought about it for a few seconds, “Yes, that’s an order.” Lex shook her head, thinking that she should have said it was never going to happen. “That whole alpha male bravado might go well with your co-eds but yeah, it does have a lot to do with your work. Since I've been trying to get you and everyone there basically fired because I don’t want people on those islands. I just don’t.”

“I love it when you order me around.” He said in jest, though part of him did mean some of it. Owen couldn't really help but grin at her reasoning. “I must go well with my co-eds but what? You didn't finish that train of thought there, Lexi.” Owen snorted, he was just playing with her but she wouldn't really see it that way. “Yeah, I get that. I get it. You're the lady who wanted to keep the boats from coming here. I fully support your ideas, that there should be respect for the animals. They aren't attractions or just things on a spread sheet, I get it.But hating my job is way different then not liking me, is this a principle thing?”
