library tourism! a great way to see a city with purpose
From Manila to Norway, check it out!
From @lemonysnicketquotes’s Poison for Breakfast, as a surfer and bus rider this stood out:
To some people, swimming in the ocean may seem very dicey, a word which here means “as risky as rolling dice, if getting a certain number means you will drown,” and it is true you should never swim in a part of the ocean with which you are not familiar, because the tides and currents can behave like angry bus drivers taking you someplace far, far from where you want to go.
This is part of a book you don’t normally pay attention to, but some cool things can emerge.
Coronavirus has shut down the IRL library experience, but that doesn’t mean the library community isn’t still alive!
Please always keep writing, Murakami!
I found the book and movie to be so different from each other. I read the book after watching the movie so I was waiting the entire book for an epic get together at the end....but that’s not how the novel ended. I started the second one and eagerly await what happens next. Her friendship with Chris and relationship with Josh (and their kiss and more romantic background) were so different, it really changed the story for me.
On my to-read list, have enjoyed the previous three detective novels!

One of my favorite authors. So many great suggestions here from my fellow Mashers.
A recent book recs list! Everyone can always use some suggestions for that growing to-read list. Here are some that I will add to my list.
Turns out my fellow San Franciscans read similar books to me! Makes me feel like I’m one with my city. Keep reading SF! The library is the best!
I’m being open-minded and including tech books in my look at end of the year book lists. Haven’t read or really heard about any of these, but for the digital lover in you.
