Imagine if gaea was an actual character.....a woman ravaged by years of mistreatment......a goddess who’s actually constantly in pain and not golden and beautiful like the other gods......the demigods, for the first time, seeing a god writhing and crying out in blood churdling screams.......I’m scared......

hi! i will keep this short and sweet. i want to reread the pjo series and if anyone wants to as well, you are not only invited but encouraged to join! 

tower of nero—the final installment in the chb chronicles—is coming out this september and i thought there would be no better a time for a reread. i’ve organized it so there is one book per week (all dates are on the banner above, just click on it for better quality), starting on the first of june and ending on the last day of august. there is a three week gap before tower of nero is published so no one has to rush in case you need (or want) extra time.

this is not competitive, nor is it a challenge. it is an event aimed to celebrate this fantastic series and our love for it. the fanbase has been more active and the times are tough, so hopefully, through this we may have a bit of fun and relive this wonderful world together. see you in june, campers! 💙

Considering Gaea is supposed to be the most powerful being in the pjoverse, she was a boring and flat villain. Give me Gaea raging at the state of the planet. Give me Gaea supporting the giants because they plan to end humanity for good and she can’t breathe anymore. Give me Gaea who has so much HATE for humanity because they’ve treated her so horribly. Gaea who used to be passive and helpful until humanity slash and burned her forests, destroyed her air, and damaged her very being.

Not to keep bringing this up, but the POTENTIAL of this. Gaea as a metaphor for ecoterrorism?? Imagine the nature spirits siding with her and the resulting tension between Percy and Grover. Percy being like but she wants to kill everyone. And Grover being like and??? This is what Pan would want. As the quest progresses, Percy seeing more of what Gaea’s mad about. How the European landscape is completely urbanized and comparing it with he saw in Alaska?? But Percy still fighting with the gods and destroying Gaea because that’s what he does. Maybe Grover dying in the battle?? And when it’s all over, Percy goes home to his appartment and sees Calypso’s moon lace on his balcony and remembers her telling him to build a garden in Manhattan. He looks out across the city, at the cars and pollution and noise, and then back at his little flower and thinks did I save the world or condem it?
