Finishing his last rep he slid down the bench slightly and then sat up smoothly. Rubbing a hand through his hair before looking over his shoulder at the other one one brow arching slightly in mild amusement. "Pretty sure that comes with the territory of being an S-Class mage."

Rising from the bench he shrugged. "I'd probably go stir crazy if the gym wasn't put back together." Motioning to the bench he added. "Need me to spot you?"

"Don't I know it. Ain't like I'm not used to it, at this point, but the work we're goin' on is all the jobs no one else would post. Feels like I gotta remind the client what the pay promised was most of the time."

He took a second to glance over the bar at the other's question and then nodded once, shifting the current weights toward the end. "Yeah, if you don't mind. You got a minute if you need a breather; gotta set up." He worked on getting a few plates added to each side in silence, grateful for the chance to get back to routine. His own equipment had been in less than stellar condition when he'd gotten back home. Getting wiped off the map for 7 years meant it would likely take a while to have the jewel to get everything sorted, but it'd be good to have a challenge to work towards (even if it did feel pretty tedious, at the start).

"Alright, should be good."

He had to agree with that statement. It was infinitely easier to work out when there were fewer people. Making it easier to fall into a rhythm and routine when not having to talk with someone else or wait for the certain weights or machines he needed. In the early morning or late evening, he'd found that most that came were the hardcore kind like him.

Settling down on the bench after loading his weights onto the bar he adjusted slightly before lifting the bar and beginning his reps. Working through the first batch before returning the bear to its place, panting slightly as he nodded. "Yeah, figured no one else would bother."

Doing his next round of reps he paused again before chuckling. "I love a good drink, but they had enough people fixing it up."

Laxus dutifully kept his hands beneath the bar, quickly adjusting to the range of each movement. He seemed somewhat amused, though the expression was muted.

"Yeah, no shortage of volunteers there. Meanwhile, I've been gettin' pulled in six different directions since we woke up on that damned island." The complaint had little bite to it; the man was exasperated but it wasn't anything unusual for him. "Glad someone had time for it, regardless."

"Roronoa Zoro." He stated simply, unsurprised and uncaring that the other didn't know his name. Even before the battle for Fairy Tail that resulted in Laxus leaving he'd only encountered the guy in passing. Aware that he was a member but never interacting with him in any way.

Moving towards the rack of free weights he lifted a dumbbell and began working on his arm reps. Biceps flexing as he set into the next rhythm of sets. It was clear during their unforeseen time away that new powers had risen in their absence. A fact that had him buckling down and adding more training to his already borderline sadistic levels. "Thought I was the only one who woke up early to use the gym."

Comfortable in the silence he worked through his arm sets with the dumbells before moving to the bench and pausing. Waiting until Laxus finished what he was doing before asking. "Since you're here do you mind spotting me?"

"Why I'm up so early, too," the blond admitted, shrugging one shoulder as he worked through a few warmups himself. "Easier when there's less people in here, but a few's not too bad."

In the time between him arriving and Zoro's later question, Laxus had slipped his sound pods on, the music slightly audible from the swordsman's spot. He didn't seem to have any trouble hearing regardless, glancing over and then nodding once. He changed course from where he'd been heading for the free weights, instead moving to stand at the head of the bench. The lacrima attached to his belt lowered the volume enough that it wasn't obnoxious, and orange eyes met Zoro's own as a brow rose.

"You the one that got this place up and running? Most of 'em seemed focused on the bar more than anything else."

It had taken a few days to get the Guild Hall looking back to normal. Removing the signal of the idiots that had taken it from them while they were gone and cleaning up the mess they'd left behind. He'd spent most of that time in the gym, getting the machines and weights back in order.

Now that it was sparkling clean and ready for use he'd arrived early that morning. Falling easily back into his normal routine when not out on a mission or trip with the others. Muscles warmed slightly from the walk here he set right in on his weight training. Easily working through his warm-ups before setting in on his reps.

Gaze flicking towards the door at the sound of someone else entering he spotted the distinct blonde hair and lightning scar. Vaguely remembering Natsu and the others calling him Laxus from his few brief encounters with the dragon-slayer. His chin dipped in greeting towards the other when their eyes met as he rose from the mat he'd been doing one armed push-ups on. "You're Laxus right?"

Laxus blinked upon seeing someone else in the gym; he couldn't say he'd known what to expect, but when he'd been with the guild before it was a 50/50 on if anyone was hanging around this early. He'd had a sneaking suspicion for a while that most had realized it was his preferred hour and left him alone, though at the time it hadn't bothered him.

He'd been reinstated to Fairy Tail, but only just recently -- and he still wasn't quite sure what the general opinion of most members was, besides -- so the question had him wary, but not overly so.

"Yeah," he responded after a slight pause, tossing his coat over one of the chairs near the door. He wouldn't lie and try to act like he'd attempted to learn the other's name at any point, but he did recall his face. "You're the swords-mage that was trying to challenge Erza, yeah?" He'd returned to the guildhall to grab a job when that fight had started, and the new face had caught his attention at the time.

A kiss on the cheek to keep up the false relationship before she nodded. She had taken note of them already but happy to see he was taking this as seriously as she was.

"There's one in the back. Tore up white shirt and jeans. He is already shaking."

After making sure there was no one else that caught her eye at the moment, she made her way towards backstage. Getting mic'd up, she would find her way into the stage. The spot light covering her and making it hard for her to see those further in the crowd.

With Laxus in the crowd it would make things easier to stay clam but she was becoming nervous before she place her hand on her heart. And the bait began. Her voice carrying across the club to each ear that would listen.

"Something's got a hold of me lately No, I don't know myself anymore Feels like the walls are all closing in And the devil's knocking at my door, whoa Outta my mind, how many times Did I tell you I'm no good at being alone? Yeah it's taking a toll on me, trying my best to keep From tearing the skin off my bones, don't you know I lose control When you're not next to me. The lyrics flowing out of her crimson painted lips.

The kiss made sense, with the ruse they were going for, but it'd startled him somewhat -- he'd been focused on finding the third suspect in question, not that. He blinked, but she was gone before he could say anything more. He shook off the surprise and ordered a drink, leaning back against the bar to take in the club as a whole.

He had clear sight to the backstage entrances from his current spot, as well as a view of most of the patrons watching at present. The man Mira indicated definitely seemed out of place -- how had the bouncers even let the guy inside? -- but he didn't want to make any moves too soon. He'd be too easy to spot if he got up now.

Prime suspect in mind, he didn't rule out the others -- keeping his focus moving would also avoid anyone catching on. Another glance back up to the stage, and he found a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

It may not have been the same type of jobs she used to take, but he was glad to see her getting away from the guild for a while all the same.

"Good morning, Master Laxus." she ringed as she came in with her clipboard and her own coffee. She would smell of lavender and honey. One of her favorite scents to wear. To her, it brought those closest to her calmness around her.

" I have a few things for you to sign off on after we go over any questions for me." Mirajane had obviously already been there for a while. The guild was opened, coffee was brewed and the breakfast menu was already drawn up on the board.

"You are going to choke with so much bacon in your mouth." she sighed softly.

His response was to pull the rest of that last strip of bacon into his mouth with a wordless grumble, looking at her with a roll of his eyes.

" 'be fine. An' just call me Laxus, yeah?" He wouldn't lie, it felt weird to hear her of all people call him that. He glanced at the clipboard in her arms, making a gesture for her to pull a chair close as he took a sip of coffee. He wasn't extremely particular about it, but Mirajane knew him well enough.

"What d'you need looked at?"

"No biting at all if you can help it."

" Keep me from getting kidnapped and all will be good. It will be like watching me at the guild hall when I sing there. I just have to pretend I'm unaware of the situation." Mirajane smiled as she held out her hand towards him. " Do you want me to hold your arm or your hand? Because the moment we have to leave this room, we have to pretend to be in love."

Which wasn't hard, he was handsome, funny when he wanted to be and overall, she enjoyed his company.

The trip to the club was short, they were allowed in by the bouncer. Her hands clinging to his arm as they made their way into the large building. Her eyes scanning along the crowd before the ended up at the bar. " I will be back stage. Why don't you get yourself a drink, darling?"

"Don't think anyone would, anyway, but..."

He huffed as she corrected him, but after a moment slipped his arm through hers. He was quiet for most of the walk to the club, other than a few more questions about job details. Once inside he scanned the crowd alongside her, moving to take a seat as Mirajane spoke.

An arm circled her waist to pull her closer, looking as if for a brief hug before she had to depart backstage. He kept his tone conversational, but his eyes were on the crowd, words too quiet for anyone else to make out.

"A few are lookin' like trouble already, you know. Blue shirt, about halfway back on the right. Gray suit a few rows down from him. Keep your eyes open, back there."

" As if you can stop me." she laughs. Maybe he would put a stop to it as master. But over the years, she spent many nights there. That's why she has a cot in her office down the hall. Mirajane was know for not taking much time for herself. After Lisanna died, she buried herself into her work here at the guild and for a while she stopped using magic all together.

The next morning rolled around and before he could even say a word before walking into his office. On the desk, breakfast with more bacon than she was planning and coffee. At the moment, there was no sign of her.

There was a moment of quiet confusion as he took in the scene before the night before reappeared in his mind, and he blinked.

He...definitely shouldn't get used to this, but he wouldn't complain, either. He glanced around the guildhall, trying to see if he could catch sight of Mirajane, then ducked inside.

Probably best to settle that after food, anyway, when he wasn't still grouchy from getting up so early. There were several changes he'd have to get used to, with all this...but at least the guildhall was quiet at this hour, mostly empty.

He re-gathered his notes from the previous day, not missing how things had been moved to make room for the spread, eyes darting over the pages with a strip of bacon hanging from his mouth.

It'd be a lot to adjust to, but he had a feeling it'd work out.
